  1. I’m on the record as saying we should gave traded him last year and stand by that. However, seeing as we still have him he should be getting games because we have very few tall forward options and we need to give him an extended run at it to see if he can begin holding his marks.
  2. See the conditions West Coast played in?
  3. Carlton look really good with three tall forwards. No idea why we didn’t replace Jackson with Weideman, we need more tall targets.
  4. He’s even worse down back than up forward.
  5. The foot injury has destroyed him I feel.
  6. Last chance for McDonald and Melksham, surely. Our worst two last week. Never thought I would say this but ANB very unlucky. Hopefully common sense prevails and Smith plays forward.
  7. It's the clearances and stoppages where we fell apart. As Supermercado says above when they didn't get the ball we were unstoppable. We keep being talked about as a great stoppage team, but we aren't. I think back to 2019 and round 1 this year when West Coast would just waltz away with the ball from clearances without any of our players within about five metres of them, I think Gawn is a little bit to blame as he keeps knocking the ball to the same spots, never punches it forward or makes things unpredictable. This makes the decision the move Harmes from the midfield all the more perplexing because it isn't as strong as people think. We probably should have also looked at another midfielder with pick 3 instead of Jackson (who I'm sure will be good for us), but that's another story.
  8. I got PTSD just reading that.
  9. From the few opportunities they did have they looked out at sea, that’s my big concern.
  10. I’m just shocked at anyone who doesn’t have McDonald and Melksham out, they had zero positive impact between them.
  11. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t linked to his foot injury from a couple of years ago.
  12. Leave my burner account alone.
  13. 2019 was a great season, you’re not a true supporter of you think otherwise. Go support another team if you don’t lover everything about this one.
  14. The turning point of the game away Carlton winning clearances after we were right on top. For a team that is supposed to be good in this area we are really bad in this area. In round 1 against West Coast and almost all of 2019 it was amazing to see opposition midfielders just walk away from stoppage situations without any pressure. I hate to say it, but I think part of the problem might be the predictability of Gawn. Also, our midfield lacks depth which is what makes the move of Harmes to the backline all the more puzzling.
  15. Mainly a reference to the old creepy dude.
  16. This kind of astute observation will probably be lost on the cheerleader nuffies here, but one of the big issues with forward entries was where the balls forward were being kicked from. Too often the player with the ball didn’t run far enough so they ended up kicking floating long balls forward without any penetration. A classic example was Brayshaw who could have run to the 50 (and had a shot) but instead kicked to an out-numbered Fritsch from about 80 metres out.
  17. That’s what I meant by left alone, surely Jetta to Betts is just logical and Smith to one of their talls too is a no-brainer (although he should be played forward).
  18. 6. Petracca 5. Oliver 4. Rivers 3. Hunt 2. ANB 1. Gawn
  19. That’s Goodwin getting too cute as per usual. Jetta was also on McKay for periods when the one player he has continuously given a bath to his whole career (Betts) was left alone.
  20. Good effort to suggest changes clearly without watching the game but they should be as follows: OUT: T. McDonald, Melksham, Jackson IN: Weideman, Pickett, Lockhart Smith gets a reprive up forward where he belongs.
  21. Do you want another guess, Alan?
