A Day at the Races
Theres only 1 real solution Macca....... Move Xmas into February ! Yep Santa has to take a back seat this year, as all sports everywhere attempt to finish their seasons. Run the Cox Plate on Xmas day and the Melbourne Cup on New Years Day ! Finish the Spring Carnival when everyone is on holidays! Perfect.

A Day at the Races
Yeah i hear ya Macca & thanks...was stiff alright ! Haha I got on a roll early and it just kept going. I had several other multis including ours, but if i took a 4 leg multi i still lost on 1 leg and ditto 3 leg multis. Despite having 7 or 8 selections that got up, i didnt get a return. The cash out before the King of Leogrance leg was 357. I was very tempted to cash out, then reinvest, but the odds had come in on the remaining legs, so i thought id let it ride and make another decision after the 5th leg. Sadly that was not to be. I only got annoyed when the remaining legs saluted haha....but hey i only dropped 30 on the day and saw some terrific races, so its all good. I still think its the way to go, mainly because you lose less than if you bet on each individual horse. Also if you have a live multi rolling, you tend to bet less on the races upcoming i think. If i went the other way on those 7 selections and picked them individually, i would have outlayed say 70 (10 each) and only returned 190, for a combined win of 130, so no big deal. I prefer to live on the edge ! Its more fun although my furniture might not agree ! The trick i reckon, is to pick the right races, skip a few....you dont have to get them in a row. I have a tendency to also go for races with less runners, when possible. I notice there are a lot of races on internationally today, seems its coming back. Its a fairly good social distance sport i guess. Lets hope cricket is the same ! Good luck at Sha Tin. Enter the Dragon !

A Day at the Races
Well now, that was a [censored] of a day ! But..did we see a potential Melbourne Cup winner go around at Morphettville? The run of Russian Camelot after being 3 wide at the back of the field the entire trip, produced a withering run for the final 200m over 2500m at only its 5th start, with what was not really an ideal preparation. He just lawn mowered, the (unbeaten at Morphettville) Dalasan who hit the front, over the final 100m. Hes now pretty much equal favourite now with Master of Wine and Surprise Baby on the markets i saw for the Melbourne Cup, at around 12-15/1. I thought a bit of rain overnight was a little bit more than was expected and perhaps didnt help the chances of some of the picks today. I must say though that the run by the 4yo mare Lakhani Rose from barrier 17 out of 16 barriers was an absolute barnstormer, just missing by a nose on the line ! At only her 10th start, just might pay to follow her. Kayla Crowther and DR Jolly had a few successful combinations on the day and seem to be a good team. Cant really shed any light on Ballarat meeting tomorrow, and wont be leaving the house to look over the fence either ! Frighteningly cold here and weve had a fair bit of rain. The rain guage overflowed last week and i havent ventured out the back paddock to reset it yet. Dont forget the PICK 7 is on again for the meeting. A free shot at 20K. I think the winning punter today only had 3 or 4 wins and a few placings, so you never know ! Enter here: https://pick7.racing.com/ .....now im going back to my movie. Night folks.

A Day at the Races
I actually meant, its a bit annoying they put the fields up so late. I was looking to do the form yesterday. Yes i agree, Demons Rock is a good horse and it looks overs. Patrick Payne has a few good runners at Bendigo and sister Michelle also has taken a horse she trains there as well. There is also a Night of Thunder horse Coupe de Tonnerre in the 1st race there, looking for its first win in a maiden. 3/1

A Day at the Races
Ah i see. When i write out the 3 bets, i now put them in sequential order as they are run. I guess the Dooz is more suited over 2000 as they say, just thought it might have brained em over 1700 but it wasnt to be. Did look a touch jumpy in the mounting yard. Sometimes the internationals can be a bit one paced i think. Will be one to look at in the Spring perhaps, if we get a spring carnival. They might have to send the Ruby Princess off to England to bring back a few horses, dont think it will have much else to do for a while !
