A Day at the Races
Just having a look at the Jubilee Cup, both Fifty Fifty and Beat the Clock have never not placed in their careers. 8 from 8 and 12 from 12 respectively. I wonder if Moreria is going to butcher Beat the Clock like he butchered that other horse, the other week at Sha Tin Macca? I think that horse had also never missed a place. Interesting. I wonder what the quinella would pay? Box exacta maybe??!

Nice, thanks.

A Day at the Races
Well done macca! Thats a good day then. 'I got the quad and a decent 4 leg all up, so im well up for the day and wont be giving it back for a while! I just missed a 5 leg multi with The Dees as the last leg, because Egyptian Symbol had a pretty ordinary run, but nevermind. The Quad paid 400 which was pretty good if you look at the numbers 2/4/2/2 all top weights. I saw some footage of Beat The Clock, that thing really flies, so might anchor it in something in The Queens Slipper race.

A Day at the Races
Well done to Macca and Binman for their best bet selections. 2 out of 4 today. We can do better.

A Day at the Races
Yeah it was quite noticeable actually, even the Dees got up! Its a good lesson actually, just because they are super hot fields, doesnt mean you cant just go with your gut instincts anyway. Premier Caulfield day of the Autumn. Russian Revolution FF paid 3199......was getable if you took the winner 1 out.

A Day at the Races
My 4 leg all up place bet was Mr So and So 3rd Brave Smash 1st Oohood 3rd Russian Revolution 1st 27/1 NB: Punters lament.. I really like Russian Revolution and should have made it my best. I just thought the field was so big. Anyways....onwards and upwards. Riding home Gailo Chop and Single Gaze in the last leg of the Quaddie.

A Day at the Races
Yeah i thought it might finish a bit like that. It was ridden up on the pace, so no real sprint at the end. Bum.

A Day at the Races
Ace High looks awesome in the mounting yard.. Bugger.

A Day at the Races
4 from 4. Slipper surely.

A Day at the Races
Overcame the wide barrier Written By. Great ride by the kid. Was 10 earlier in the week. Need Russian Revolution to place to complete my 4 leg All Up. First 2 legs in the Quad.

A Day at the Races
Need Oohood to run a place. Dees are going ok.
-
A Day at the Races
Oh yeah, totally agree. Was just on for the place, not his distance, but i just wanted to see a better run than last time and he ran well. Id stick with him over a mile i reckon.

A Day at the Races
God DK Weir aye? 3 out first 4 runners. All you really needed was Showtime and you have the first 4 right there. Humidor flying.
-
A Day at the Races
Was on it last week. Ace High has come into 3.50 pl on the Tote. Think Tosen can bounce back today.
-
A Day at the Races
Out in my main bet, took a back up with Show a Star for a place so all is not lost!
-
A Day at the Races
Nice pick Bin. I agree, think Gailo will beat Hartnell.

A Day at the Races
Well yeah im going with that i guess, just cant see a standout anywhere else. I like Russian Revolution, will go close and i think Almandin is head and shoulders above the others in the first if he comes back fit. I think Ace High is going to come into this pretty fit and will be flying home. If hes close enough he easily places. Thats my take anyway. My only query is can we get it in a multi for a place? Im pretty sure you can.

A Day at the Races
Im still struggling to find a pick......can i choose Ace High for a place @ 4.50? You can put place bets into multis now i think?? Ill keep looking, but im leaning that way.....

A Day at the Races
Yeah thats the thing isnt it. Its what i go by as well, trying to pick a winner for the 4 of us. So like i say, a bit more research from me and Friday arvo sometime. Might be a few scratchings by then. Will be a fascinating duel between Hartnell and Gailo Chop in the last race at Caulfield, Taj Mahal and Single Gaze in that race as well. What a race to bring home the Quad. Is Melbourne playing already? I suppose its almost March isnt it.

A Day at the Races
Yeah nice, i like it. The McEvoy stable has had some great youngsters apparently. This one no exception. Good price in a 7 horse field. Good barrier. Leadup race for the Slipper?? I see Egyption Symbol is going around again at 6.50 in R5 at Rosehill. I also note Ace High in R7 Hobartville Stakes Grp 2. Its 1400 but has won and placed at the trip. Its 4.50 place is not a bad bet. Hes currently 8/1 for The Australian Darby, that will come in if he places here... There are some smashing races. Very tough day coming up i think. I like Russian Revolution in the Oakliegh Plate, its first up and 3 from 3 first up record is very impressive, but that is one tough race. Almandin resumes in Race 1 at Caulfield over 2000. I like Bedford too in that race. Im gonna keep studying and wait till Friday afternoon for my best. This just gets harder!

A Day at the Races
It was just a one of bet off the top of my head, after noting Maccas post, and the standout horse had won 6 out of 7 starts at a track in Sha Tin so i threw him in for first. Its not how i bet over the long term, but cheers for the input DD.

A Day at the Races
Really? Why the big move i wonder? I still think its not his ideal distance 1400. Never won at the trip so far i dont think although a number of placings. Having now viewed the run from last year, you kinda have to have something on it. When is the barrier draw..Wed?

A Day at the Races
Wow look at the difference on the turn between the 2yo race and the group 1. The 2yo are so spread out ! Just compare the 2 still shots above. Dont see how Tosen Stardom lost that really? Just got nailed on the line. Funny how you never remember the 2nd horse. Nice research there Macca, thanks for posting. Bit of a swoopers track that day.

Strange ride on the favourite?? Joey?? A friend of mines husband is part owner in Wicklow Brave. They had Moirera on him in last years cup. It was a pretty bad ride by all accounts, although the horse finished off ok. They said he was so in love with himself, he would even really talk to them.
