  1. Maric showed enough last week. He was quite good.

Agreed. Im glad some of us in here arent our selectors. Its easy to look at stats and say oh he didnt do much, but if you watched the game he put his body on the line at crucial moments to force turnovers (none of which are counted as stats). Hes getting more and more confidence every week. He's gonna be great this kid.

  2. Hmmm no that aint going to work. Forward is his least worst position ha. But its not his fault. The dees work back in big numbers when on the defend though dont work back hard enough to be in leading positions thus we see the ball just being booted into the forward line on their heads. Did you notice the only goals we got the other night were on the run from outside 50 as there were no forwards in the F50.

  3. 6: Jamar

    5: Rivers

    4: Green

    3: Warnock

    2: Frawley

    1: Bennell

Couldnt really award any of the midfielders points. They were good but each were beaten by their respective opponents. The bulk had to goto the defence who held the saints to a fairly low score considering the amount of times it went in the F50.

  4. Good things:

    - We look fit. Last 3 weeks we have finished games full of running whist the opposition are out on their feet.

    - Apart from the first quarter and a half one on one rivers/frawley did a great job on Franklin.

    - Stefan Martins contested marking. Far better forward line resting ruckman than we've ever had.

    - Brocky playing with a bit more flair. Havent seen that for a while.

    And of course SSSYYYYYYYYYYLLLVVIIAAAAAA!!!!!

    Bad Things:

    - Seeing how professional Hawthorn games are compared to our home games. Giving away 5 grand at half time, Tasmania competitions etc.

    - Millers inability to back himself EVER. Handballing running into an open goal just sums it up.

    - Robbo.

  5. I dont know why anyone would want to boycott any of our games, twilight, etihad whatever. We need all the supporters at the games we can, home game or not. Im sick of people msging me while watching the game saying "hey looks like there are 10 people there."

  6. Im not really fussed about picks 1 and 2. Ive said it before we have had a few good years of drafting which is already starting to show signs of coming together nicely as yesterday showed us. Lets not forget Watts, Blease and Strauss havent even been in the team yet. Im not saying we will make the finals or anything stupid like that but it wont be a complete disaster to not finish on 4 wins. We will still get a top 3 pick regardless.

  7. Absolutely spot on, surely the coaches can see this and its a matter of time before Bennel replaces him.

No way Cheney will get dropped.

    IN:Green, Bennel

    Out: Batram, Dunn

Yeah its unfortunate cuz the kid is a real competitive beast, throws himself at the ball, but much like godfrey his disposal lets him down. I guess this is where the difference is between clubs like melbourne and geelong/hawthorn. Their "taggers" like Ling and Sewell are also exceptional ball users. Who is the player for the dees that will stand up and play this role?

  8. I am and have been a big fan of wheels for a long time.

How ever I find his inclusion this week a little supprising, has his form with casey warrented the selection? Like I said I'm a big fan but understand he is not apart of our side in 3yrs time when we are hopefully pushing for a flag. Might have thought Mcnamara may have squeezed in for his 1st after a reported good game last out vs coburg?

You never know. As crazy as it sounds maybe dean bailey is trying to win the match? Bringing in experience for experience.

  9. Another Bruce bashing thread.

Remember he won the B&F last year and remember this year he averages 26 disposals per game. Does he butcher the ball anymore than Bartram, Morton, Jones and Petterd? Certainly arguable but Bruce always seems to cop it.

Because he is a senior player and he gets the pill that often his poor disposals are highlighted. By the way his disposal efficiency yesterday was 82% but even if we assume an average of 65% (which by the way I think is lower than his actual efficiency for the year) then he is sending it to our advantage 17 times a game on average. How many players in the first 5 rounds have averaged 17 effective disposals a game - I'II go out on a ledge and say none!

He is a hard running midfielder that wins his share of the contested ball so get off his case!

Yeah but bruce has had 10 years to get his kicking right, so its obviously not going to get better now. At least those kids you mentioned have some scope for improvement.

  10. Some at least closer games. What did we get beaten by today? 40 odd points? And thats a victory for us apparently because we didnt get beaten by 100 points. Get beaten by 7 goals every week and the confidence will drop and we may see some of those 100 point margins again. If they can take todays effort to perth they WILL beat the eagles. But they usually leave any effort at tullamarine airport. When was the last time we won interstate anyways?

  11. Jolly Cox McIntosh have all been better than Fraser.

I will always think Fraser is an absolute [censored] after he waved goodbye to Jeff White in the middle of a Queen's BDay game ('05 maybe?) when Whitey was going to the bench. Fraser was seemingly waving "seeya later, I've beaten you", and then we smashed the filthy Filth, was so good. Stupid arrogant [censored] Fraser.

Hahhaa yeah that was the turning point for me. Hes my most hated player by far.
