  1. Hopefully we won't get the second pick again, as rudely suggested above, and possibly can pick up Angus Brayshaw with our first pick and Billy Stretch with our second round pick under F/S! This will give us two young good kids who have already trained with us and know the players and coaches and better still our coaching team has already evaluated them.. I would be very disappointed if we were eligible for the second pick [although not so disappointed if we got the retrospective PP from a contrite AFL that we deserved this year]
  2. I am sure Brayshaw would be over the moon if we picked up his kid ahead of North! What was he like when he trained with us?

If we release Craig from the last year of his contract we save $400,000 which we can use towards Swallow!

Apart from his four goals from five kicks yesterday, Jack also laid some good tackles and second efforts. I hope that his first year under Roos has everybody who wanted to trade him eating humble pie!

Well with Dawes a late withdrawal yesteday, thank God for Watts being there and not having to rely on Sellars. Watts tally of four goals from five kicks demonstrated his importance to our team [and the fallacy that we have an over-abundance of elite forwards and backmen].

He is a wingman in Roos hypothetical starting 22 [capable of playing forward or back]. In ohter words, Roos rates him as an integral part of his optimum midfield strategy.

Everybody seems to want to trade Watts, thinking that it is the solution to our midfield problems and has no downside: For those that think we should have taken Nic Natainui instead of the top-ranked Melbourne-based option, rest assured they would now be watching Nic play for Fremantle instead of West Coast, whilst Watts would be with one of our Melbourne [top eight] rivals; for those that say Watts is soft because he went to Brighton Grammar, so did Chris Dawes and nobody is saying he is a soft public schoolboy; for those that say Watts is not hard enough at the ball and we should have 22 Luke Tapscotts in our team instead, just look at their comparitive stats for both possessions and effective disposals and you will see that there is a massive difference in skill levels; (I know who Roos would prefer to keep) for those who think that as a public relations exercise we would look intelligent trading off a No. 1 draft pick in desperation, think again; for those who want to tell all the young Demon supporters with No. 4 on the back of their jumper that they are jettisoning their favourite player, make sure you can replace him first with someone who we prove as good a role model.

Why trade Watts? It seems that you are hell-bent onn doing it just on principle. There is every chance we may still entice Taylor Adams particularly when we have No. 2 draft pick and a high chance of a priority pick. We may also get Boyd (as a better and cheaper option than Franklin) if we are clever. Rest assured, injection of elite midfielders into our list is not dependant on jettisoning a No. 1 draft pick which IMO would make us look stupid.

He is staying because he is one of DeeZee's favourite players [and also one of mine] and we know how to select players who will prove exciting times for the future of the Club.

Maybe the MCC should pick him up [i.e. poach him from Richmond]? After all, we are both sporting divisions of the MCC now that we have re-aligned.

When was Scully a rookie? He was No. 1 draft pick!
  13. If then win on the 29th does that make us Premiers or Minor Premiers?

Who is surprised that the Tigers did not pick Petterd who was similaiarly claimed to be travelling well [in his new role as a sweeping backman] and who was promoted off the rookie list?
