SANFL Player to look for is Josh Scott. 21yo. Former Lakes Entrance boy and Gippsland Power. 3 years at Glenelg. Won their 2016 B&F. Goalkicker, can take a good mark. Moved into midfield and backline when needed in 2016. Like Jack Watts. 190cm 82 kg. Needs an AFL preseason but worth grabbing at 50+ or as a rookie.

Agree Ryan has looked super impressive this year. He does some special things that make him AFL quality. Needs more consistency and exert more tackling pressure to step up to AFL (he gets pushed aside too easily).

Lewis is a leader. He accumulates. He does the 1%s. He gets to the contest. He kicks goals. He is smart. He has the skills. His not fast but gets it to the runners when needed. His next 3 years will be as important as any, and don't discount his influence on developing our young mids Viney, Petracca, Oliver, Brayshaw and Salem.

I actually agree with Damian Barrett for once. Dees need to push again for Lewis. Up the pressure on the Hawks. They cannot afford Mitchell and OMeara and Vickery without cuts. Lewis to Melbourne makes sense.

I think getting Lewis would have been an absolute coup. (And might still be if the Mitchell deal doesn't work through). Lewis is a leader. His ability to lift under adversity (like Hodge) has carried the Squawks over the line, including finals and Grand Finals. His inclusion would have been another key to getting up the ladder into the finals and in the big one. We move on ... (I had to raise the separate thread.)

Sure Mitchell has a connection with Simpson but he has a young family... moving across the country would be hard. Does any other Victorian based club see an opportunity here!! It smells like the Hawks have salary cap PRESSURE and need Sam Mitchell to move if they are to bring in Tom Mitchell and O'Meara (bringing in $800k-$1mill in incoming salary)
