  1. each to his own but I think you may find that I am not alone with how Oliver is perceived... a good player who could be so much better if he kicked it more
  2. Those calling for Kent to be included: He had a woeful second half of the VFL season he was put up for trade over the off season and no one wanted him even as a fringe player On Friday Casey played Frankston... they are a scratch VFL side like the original Gold Coast Bears... cobbled together from players who were not at the top of their game in other VFL sides... (no disrespect intended to Frankston but that is the reality.) In the previous practice game I cannot remember him setting the ground alight... (could be wrong on this.) Sorry ... not yet from me.
  3. 11 kicks ... 24 handballs Needs to reverse that and then he will start getting the accolades he probably deserves from the commentators
  4. It was not too difficult to realise we would slow down in the second half due to the conditions. At the half time break we had a 36 point lead.... Smart coaching says let's take a little heat out of the game and chip it around. Slow possession football mixed with five minute bursts of frenetic attack. Play the game between the opposition half back line and our fifty metre line for ten minutes. We seem to have only one plan and it just doesn't work in all conditions. Remember our bad form with the wind last year cost us two games. There are lots of variations but this is what we pay big money to the coaches for. One dimensional game plans are just dumb.
  5. The Casey practice game was against Frankston who are just a scratch team this year. Nothing really can be read into that game. If Kennedy plays well against Coburg next week and Bugg fails against Norf then I think you might be right in calling for a change.
  6. Bombers have lost in the west ... big result in the context of our season with the Saints also losing. A Hawthorn loss on Monday would be good as well.
  7. thank you ball boys ... I think we can mark down a Freo win
  8. fingers crossed ... a Bombers loss would be pleasant
  9. because if Norf had not beaten us twice last year they would have been the wooden spooners last year. And FCS we just cannot lose to them again
  10. lots to think about after that game. Would like to believe that we will easily dispose of Norf next week
  11. GWS better team than the pies but gws cannot get its running game going. Dunne not being disgraced
  12. Hwmnbn possible season ending injury
  13. Not many orange people here at the MCG. Not many of anybody in fact. Half the ground is still reserved seating so the pies make money. Go orange men. It will be so nice watching the pies go down.... I hope
  14. remember the AFL considers their list so exciting they have been rewarded with ... how many??.... key Friday night games !!

Macca when you say Internationals do you mean owned from overseas or simply bred overseas. Not sure but it seems that we don't see as many of the visiting internationals any more. Strange given the ease of transport but I suppose it's the old quarantine problem. Good luck to the Demon Zephyr !
  16. The St Kilda defender played Brown from behind which is normal for the punch/spoil etc. The problem is that Brown has a good vertical leap and a wide enough body to keep the defender behind him. Needs to be played perhaps from the side and preferably as a 2 on 1. Easily said but can we do it. Lose to Norf next week and I along with others will go into melt down. They simply are not that good !
  17. Hadn't thought that before ...... how depressing
  18. Saints are one of two or three teams we play twice this year ......... mmmmmmmmmm
  19. surely this is the year we beat Norf
  20. Saints are generally thought of being around 8-12. Personally I never saw it. I wonder whether the pundits really understood the effort other teams put into Riewoldt which allowed the other St Kilda players to prosper. Montagna rarely had a bad game either
  21. Funny if it was not so true MR! Remember that no one actually saw the sandpaper being used. It was merely in Bancroft's pocket like the stuff in the Bomber's fridge. Oh what a great tribunal the AFL put together !
  22. Jenkins is a key player .. could easily have had 6 goals in the first half. Betts had some good patches by way of contesting the ball etc but was not dominant on the scoreboard. As dl4e mentions Richmond's forward line did not really function. Hope our strategy people were there working on our plan for Anzac Eve. Out of interest has Martin ever been tagged?
  23. Bancroft's press conference was an example of what we should have got from the Essendon players. It goes a long way in healing the hurt suffered by the Australian public. I will have no problem welcoming him back to cricket when he has served his suspension.

Looking forward to tonight's game. In last year's GF the Tigers were excellent in forcing Adelaide wide. This had the affect of sending many of the Crow's rebound plays over the boundary with the ensuing 50/50 throw in. What tactic will the Crows use tonight to ensure that it does not happen again.
  25. an example of where the bigger clubs can invest their money to remain at the top, size wise. The fan experience or whatever you like to call it is very important.
