  1. Maybe He's played one game in the SANFL reserves. The team lost but he played well with around 12 kicks and 15 handballs. (I rate him higher in a losing team) Hope you're right but let's see
  2. Sounds like the name you'd give to a stadium in China or the old Soviet Union. It's had more names than hot dinners (6 by last count)
  3. Good point but if the big EPL fans are already subscribed so they can see Champions League there's no additional revenue from those fans At $37 per month it's already almost at Kayo prices.
  4. Media reporting that the Optus Sports (EPL etc) is almost certainly being bought by Stan. Will be announced within the week. The speculated price is $600M paid in 6 x $100M instalments. If Stan also gets the NRL rights plus the F1 rights (up for renewal in 2026) Kayo will be a long second to Stan. Have never liked Stan because it sells the sports package as an add on to the normal entertainment package. The Age which is owned by the same group who own Stan have been running strategic articles complaining of the AFL/Kayo Saturday blackout of FTA. Coincidence??
  5. A Marvel Massacre is building
  6. A big win in the scheme of things by GWS. The Suns are known for post bye ladder drops. Will it happen again
  7. Very important that we use the second half of the season wisely. I'm not interested in the win/loss ratio as such but I'm interested in dominant quarters that can be replicated and of course player development. To play Max in all games would be madness. Same for May and probably Lever and Salem.
  8. With the Suns likely to have a gimme game in Round 23 against the Bombers and the Dogs playing Richmond it could be a very important game for GWS from a final 8 perspective
  9. The future fund is an excellent concept but it needs to grow in a capital sense (excluding re-invested income) by at least one million per year. I think it's still under $10M. Twenty million is required if it's to have a future impact
  10. And then there were nine What a dud of a season
  11. North should have folded or left Melbourne years ago
  12. The arrogance of the Elliot and Pratt days is long gone. Carlton have done their time and like dare I say Essendon deserve some time in the sun. The Blues seem to be a very well run club off the field. Players rarely hit the headlines for the wrong reasons. Princes Park has been well maintained. Carlton v MFC for the GF next year... Dreams !!
  13. If the Blues and Port lose that's the top 9 sorted. So much for the competitive balance Becoming readily apparent that the Suns were over compensated. Pies have lucked out with three top 5 father son picks and the never ending careers of Sidebottom and Pendlebury. Five automatic best 22 selections certainly help with team selections. (Yeah.. Jealousy is a curse !!)
  14. Serious massacre Does this mean we can claim a "moral victory"
  15. Big game tonight but not sure given the venue and time of year it will tell us much. Wish they could start the game at say 7:15 Would be better overall ratings IMO
  16. Some unfortunate truth in that. I'm not adverse to rotating large numbers of the top ten players if it keeps them fresher for 2026 and aids in development and gameplan improvement/experimentation. At least the AFL can't accuse us of tanking this year
  17. I think we've entered the "anyone but Collingwood" phase of the season
  18. Coming up to an election next year there's simply no votes in giving us money. In a time of gov't overspends everywhere it would be a negative if anything. Timing and perception is what it's about. Had we a "shovel ready" plan at the outbreak of covid they would have thrown money at us. Not now I am surprised that in the glow of 2021 we didn't do some serious fund raising from the supporter base. It was pre the massive increase in interest rates and people were well disposed to "causes". Not much else to do during lockdown. TBH like most I'm over this saga. With the club staring down another period of mediocrity combined with internal issues on nearly every front the enjoyment factor is fast disappearing. Used to love the simplicity of a VFL match but even that has gone with the stupid scheduling. (Saturday night in winter at Whitten oval was a nadir)
  19. Who shall we choose to shoot the arrow Max hangs left Bayley... well he was the man Kozzie... not sure if you can check side an arrow Woe Penelope
  20. We must be somewhere near that by now or does it just seem that long?
  21. Not to mention the Hydra
  22. The voyage of Ulysees had less twists and turns. Hopefully Penelope recognises us when we finally reach home. But do we have a Telemachus among us?
  23. No It was born of hope and I salute Adam for having that hope. Let's keep it open to measure those green shoots for next year.
  24. I think we can officially close the lid for 2025
  25. 3:7 since half time
