  1. Far too soon for this. The bulk of the activity will be next week. A huge success thus far though, with the best possible outcomes for Frawley compensation and Stretch falling to the third round. Garnett comes for next to nothing in one of only two completed trades across the entire league. We all want another Tyson, but there's still another week to go.

Baltimore Denver San Diego Let's see if my tipping curse can knock a couple of AFC West rivals off!
  3. This deal gets a thumbs up from me. He clearly fills a need as a goal kicking forward and the cost is basically nothing. I don't think we will take more than three or four picks into the draft, and two of those will be Stretch and Jetta. We have way too many players on our list who are too raw or too useless to be playing senior AFL football, so the fewer guys we bring in with later picks the better.
  4. I don't know why I listen to this stuff. It's like when I was in grade 2 and a school friend convinced me that Punky Brewster lived in the next street. Time to tune out until next Friday.
  5. I CAN'T BELIEVE THE AFL GAVE SYDNEY A SECOND ROUND PICK FOR A 30-YEAR OLD BEARDED HOBO AND MADE US USE PICK 42 INSTEAD OF PICK 41 ON BILLY STRETCH!
  6. He hasn't been delisted yet as far as I know. He has been kept on the list to fulfill his purpose at the Demons: as a sweetener in a pick 78 for Garlett deal.
  7. Or... 23 for Garlett and 28 28 for Lumumba Clark and 60 for 35 and 54 54 for Frost Still have 35 in the bag after all that.
  8. Essendon are going to be stuffing a world record number of pages into their fax machine at 1.59pm next Friday.
  9. Says it perfectly! Honestly, what an idiotic pack of trolls these whining clowns are. Try addressing the core issue of stronger teams annually poaching the lower teams before trying to rob the victims of free agency of their rightful, mandated compensation.
  10. If Facebook says it, it's good enough for me.
  11. I think they would find it easier if the formula wasn't pulling a number out of their collective backside. There's very little transparency, and they seem to like to have the wriggle room to chop and change as they see fit.
  12. I have to shake my head at the AFL not releasing the compensation result until 5pm or later. This is like the twit recruiters who sit there for the full five minutes wondering who they'll pick at #2. Inept.
  13. I read somewhere the other day that once that pick is traded, you can't acquire any free agents.
  14. You will never get back the brain cells you just lost by visiting that page.
  15. Exactly. The biggest myth in football is Hawthorn's "fabulous" trading. Pretty easy to get the likes of Gunston, Burgoyne, Lake and Gibson when they refuse to go anywhere else.
  16. Dogs have declined to match the absurd Higgins offer and will have pick 26 as compensation, provided they don't sign any free agents. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-10-03/roos-file-offer-for-higgins
  17. I think the timing has less to do with respect for Melbourne and Robbie and more to do with the fact that on this day more than any other, when we celebrate the life if our most loyal son, Frawley would come across as a grubby, flag-chasing mercenary. The public and media couldn't help but draw comparisons on a day like today.
  18. I'm going to give the Bulldogs hierarchy the benefit of the doubt and assume that they understand that you don't just move up three spots at the very top end of the draft by giving up slop. Unless our officials have gone insane, the Dogs can put up some names of some quality young midfielders or we move onto other discussions.
  19. So we do get Clark for Lumumba after all if that happens! I'll take it.
  20. That's the one! I thought I'd omit that detail. I actually cringed at the time when he missed that goal for that reason.
  21. North just signed Jarrad Waite. It seems like only yesterday I was behind the goals at Princes Park at the beginning of his career watching him miss what would have been the game-winning goal against us.

  23. Relax dude. It'll be pick 35 or 36 after free agency compensation.
