I'm the same, Cowboy. I'm so used to KC being decent once every 4 years and rancid in between that I've just always enjoyed watching any game. Also, the fact that we are rarely on TV has contributed to this.
  2. Still none the wiser. At least GNF is getting the serial killer out of his system on here.
  3. The same afl offseason twitter account quoted channel 7 this evening as saying collingwood had accepted 5, 25 and some crisps for beams.
  4. That narrows it down to about 40-45 current AFL players. With a good game of Demonland Cluedo, we can get this.
  5. See, how am I supposed to sleep until next Thursday now? This would be tremendous, obviously. With our draft picks, we already have enough trade material to net at least one A-grader (assuming the player and their current club were willing). I'm curious though about how we get this done while keeping pick 2. It would mean goodbye to at least one more member of our current starting 18. I'll sit back and wait. Impatiently.
  6. I don't consider Mitchell likely in this scenario. Pick 3 by itself would be sufficient and you wouldn't have to throw away Trengove to get him.
  7. I don't know how many picks they'll want to use, but from the journo's follow-up tweets, GWS may not have much use for later picks. With that in mind, 23 for Frost and 24 could be the best we could offer.
  8. Sweet. If they're going to be difficult to deal with, they're not really in much of a position to bargain.
  9. Goodness me, is Dangerfield a Demon yet? I can't keep opening this thread. Just cut out the middle man, give Adelaide 2, 23, Trengove and Toumpas for Dangerfield, Lyons and 10, then hurl 3 and 10 to Collingwood for Beams and 48, then 48 to GWS for Frost, Clark on his bike for Lumumba and 55, head to the draft with 55 and change for Stretch and Jetta. Robert's your uncle, Franny's your aunt.
  10. These aren't the Crows you're looking for.
  11. Bob, I think a manager would place a pretty big emphasis on dollars and security so I doubt he'd be advising him not to go to Richmond. Are you suggesting that continuing his career at Melbourne would be a path to nowhere for Trengove? Again, I like Trengove. I think he'll be one of the most warmly received ex-players at a MFC game we've seen. If I was his manager I'd be telling him to take the money and security and go. For me it's about where we are heading. It's not so much a matter of being scarred by previously investing heavily in the draft and failing. We are seeing now increasing freedom for players, and many are chasing success. I don't know that we can afford another slow build through top picks if we are going to be able to keep and attract top level talent.
  12. It's definitely a question of value for me, Red. I like Trengove, but every single player in the AFL is tradeable. I just think the trade is terrible value. While we are always going to be clouded in our judgment about our own players and what they're worth, what on earth would Richmond supporters know about his value? Are their lives so sad that they have been watching Melbourne games every week for the last five years and have a firm grasp on him as a player? I'm hoping desperately that Melbourne is doing this with Beams/Dangerfield/other equivalent star in the bag and require this pick, as for me it's the difference between an A or an F this trading period.
  13. Could be an unlikely Mel Gibson-Danny Glover type friendship.
  14. I'd like to see Melbourne trade for Beams if for no other reason than to see the massive tanty Greg Swann would throw when pick 3 is included in the deal.
  15. Contestant number 3 thanks. Number 2 sounds plausible and after the Trengove news broke I'm sure it's being discussed by the clubs. I'm tipping it fails in the end though.
  16. Probably. Whoever is wrong has to do a lap of the G at our first home game next year with their pants down.
  17. Are you just connecting the dots from the Trengove news or have you got a source?
  18. I wouldn't give more than pick 3 alone for Mitchell. It has to be someone better. I'm trusting it is. It better be.
  19. Was just about to say 3 and 12 for Beams AND Mamba, though that could be redundant if the Clark-Lumumba trade works well.
  20. I'm clinging to this like Kate Winslet to a floating piece of debris in the Atlantic. Unfortunately, Jack Trengove is playing the role of Leonardo DiCaprio.
  21. Freaking disgusting. How is us throwing in pick 23 even required? Farce. Unless this leads to Dangerfield or equivalent star coming on board next its horrific.
