The Jack Viney Made Me Cry Thread
They were the same posters claiming Bail was going to have a break out year after 6 years in the system. A hard runner perfectly suited to Roos' game style, they said. Viney's a beauty and seems to have taken the next step with his footy. Had a sloppy poor first quarter/half against the Pies which stands out because in every other game he has been excellent. Viney, Brayshaw, vandenBerg, Kent, Hogan...finally some players that just love it rough and tough.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
You can't be serious about bail? The definition of list clogger.

The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan
Hogan at one end, McDonald at the other. Fingers crossed the bookends are sorted for the next 8 years. Both could be in the best few key forwards/defenders in the comp. So happy to know they will continue to be developed properly with Roos, Goodwin, McCartney. Bruce's "Hogan launches himself and takes a beauuuuuty" was just perfect.

The 2014 AFL National Draft
If a rebuilding club that has won 40 games in 8 years doesn't use pick 40 in the national draft that'll just about be it for me. We have the best development coach in the AFL now in Brendan McCartney, and we're talking about possibly bowing out at a pick where even we have managed to find a Tom McDonald, Dean Kent and JKH over the past few years. McKenzie and Evans must have some bloody incriminating photos of someone....

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
How would we get a top 5 pick for Clark? Free agent compensation is based on the value and the length of the contract the player is getting at their new club. Clark certainly isn't going to get big money or much more than a 1 year deal based on his 14 games in 3 years. Or are you saying the AFL will give us something on compassionate grounds? Still couldn't see it being a top 5 pick.

The 2014 AFL National Draft
In my opinion Dubdee it was 7 years of drafting the wrong sort of players. Schwab and Prendergast seemed obsessed with nice boys of the highest character. Name me a competitive mongrel amongst Watts, Scully, Trengove, Cook, Gysberts, Blease, Tapscott, Toumpas? The Development was also non-existent once they got here, of course, but other clubs have found stars in the last 7 drafts. I don't think you sacrifice the chance to bring in a potential A grader for the sake of multiple B-Graders (i.e. I believe Essendon offered Myers and Colyer last year for pick 2) just because we've been burnt in the past. You've got a much better chance of finding a Franklin, Roughead, Cotchin, Pendlebury etc at the pointy end of the draft. I want Roos to rebuild the place properly and bring in some kids that possess traits to be elite players, develop them properly over the next 2 seasons, and in 5 seasons might be in Mike Sheahan's top 10 players in the league. I don't want a team of B-D graders - they don't win you games.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRISTIAN PETRACCA
Can anyone who has seen Petracca play tell me whether he is aggressive? Does he have some mongrel in him? So many of our failed high draft picks haven't made it because they're just nice boys that don't like the physical stuff. We've picked so many softcox. Does Petracca like smashing blokes and burying them into the ground? Does he have that Hodge/Lewis ruthless mongrel in him?
