I don't doubt they will be elite. As is GWS midfield. But for 2 years straight they have lost the prelim to two sides who don't have as much talent .. but what they do have are 22 blokes that give everything for 120min. I don't want one skillful individual who is not prepared to be on the same page as 21 other guys. Agree with me or not.. Watts has been on our list long enough now to know that he just will never bring the required effort to make a grand final – and WIN it!

If it meant we could feed the guys on our list who are prepared to put the effort in contest after contest, week after week.. Then i'll take the packet of chips.

Most of what you say makes a lot of sense. Except imo the part about Watts being a very good player in a very good team. Yes, we all know he can be a great user of the footy. But that alone just does not cut it in modern day footy. – Lets look at two of the most recent "very good sides" .. Western Bulldogs last year & Richmond this year.. What do they both have in common? Effort !!!! Run, manic pressure, tackling, 2nd / 3rd and 4th efforts, contest after contest. No player that does not give 100%, no weak links. That is why Watts would NOT be great for either of these sides. It is the recipe for a successful side and he is not the right ingredient. That's why we need to move him on, and get whatever we can for him.

Well it would seem that we may end up doing that rumored deal with the pies. Pick 10 and Watts for their pick 6. Then on trade pick 6 and a shuffle of later picks to the crows for Lever. If that's what has to happen, then so be it .. But I shudder at the thought of seeing Watts in black and white.

Yes, sorry.. I'm only speculating with those remarks.

Not saying our leadership on field is great .. but the spotlight doesn't seem to be on Watts for that .. He seems to be the ONLY guy over 25 who continues to disappoint off-field – which is what Jones is pointing out. Watts had one good season in 2016 .. then rocks up in 2017 out of shape acting like he's a millionaire with nothing left to prove. Sure .. He kicked the winning goal against the pies.. I can guarantee you he's the type of bloke to be satisfied that he's done enough for the year on the back of that. Hence why that seemed to be his peak for the whole season before he fell away badly. I'm sorry .. but he needs to go.

We have our leadership group on-field .. And Watts is not apart of that group – for good reason. However off-field leadership which we aren't really privy to is where Watts should be excelling. He should be mature enough now to know how to set a good example for the younger guys .. Which is what Jones seems to be alluding to. I respect people's desire to defend Watts. I used to be one of those blokes. But enough is enough. The playing group and coaches are clearly frustrated and considering they have been the most patient over the years, if they think its time to part ways, we should too.

If he says no .. Then it will have 1 of 2 possible outcomes .. the almighty kick up the bum he gets will either make him pull his head in and change his bad habits and have a cracking 2018 .. OR, he will go into his shell, nothing will change and will spend most of 2018 playing VFL .. Then will be delisted in 2018.

His heart is clearly not in it .. You could see him just going through the motions this year .. He needs a fresh start elsewhere, and I reckon Brisbane or Gold Coast would be a good fit.. Perfect location for him to market his 'Skowsh' board shorts.

Not the worst outcome .. We played some of our best footy this year without Gawn.. Watts, pedo and tmac were incredibly effective rotating through the middle. And come to think of it.. Mummy is 31 now and clearly past his best. Getting Gawn as their permanent ruck makes sense. Could be a huge left field trade brewing here.

See.. I reckon West Coast will have a huge drop next year & finish between 12 - 15. I think they might almost be forecasting that & are desperately trying to get some early picks for a quick rebuild. Even though they are playing finals this year.. I have us closer to the premiership window than them.

The way Jack plays doesn't reflect the way Goodwin wants us to play. Tough, fierce, relentless and uncompromising. That laconical body language along with the lack of 2nd & 3rd efforts fails to ignite any inspiration to his teammates & supporters. For a guy with as much talent as what he's got, he just does not impact anywhere near as much as he should. If we get any interest in him.. we get what we can for him & move on.
