  1. Went to the game and then watched the game as soon as I went home* (*couldn't see a third of the ground as I was next to a tree trying to get shade)

Gees Oliver has some talent. After watching the replay yesterday and noticed a few things.

    1) The pin point 50 metre switch pass to Pedersen deep in defence (which he dropped) then took a hanger from the very next kick coming back into defence.

    2) In the 2nd half (pretty sure last quarter) he is tackled by 2 dogs players, he's lifted off the ground but somehow manages to fire off a handball twisting his body mid tackle and hitting a teammate 5 metres away over his shoulder.

    3) Quick hands...gees there were some handballs that were like bullets.

    4) Time and space...seems to find it.

    5) Complaining after a tackle on the wing 3rd quarter, it was high but he hit the Doggies player with some force.

    6) If you watch the game again you'll find him lurking around the packs most of the time like a shark ready to attack.

From the Demons fans around me, Jordie 2.0 is already a firm fan favourite!

  2. kick left footed

    throw left armed

    bowl left handed

    tennis left handed

    write left handed

    golf right handed

    bat right handed

    2 hands - right

    1 hand/leg - left

Dad - Right handed in everything

Brother - Right handed - cricket & golf, handball and boucing ball - left handed

Me - Right handed - cricket and golf - left handed - handball and bouncing ball - right handed.

Have no idea how that came about!

  3. Why Terry Wallace, you couldn't have found copyright material of Neale D or Barassi screaming?

because it's from a doco called "Year of the Dogs" when Terry Wallace was coaching...

I don't know about you guys, but if I see one bloke walk out of here, getting a pat on the back from people out there for a good effort, I'll spew up!

  4. I even hate when there are alternate versions of our song played on the radio.

Example - League Teams on SEN with Finey has an alternate version and i hate it.

The only way they could possibly change it is to get the original Fable Singers to re-record it..

...but i'm pretty sure they are dead.

  5. Couldn't agree more Dom.

For the first time in a long time, it feels like we're ahead of the curve, rather than just playing catch-up.

The TV ratings for this year's game, and the number of women who follow footy in general, all point to a growing market with huge untapped potential.

In the not-too-distant future, other clubs will be clamouring to jump on board and get in on the game; by that time, the MFC will have established a significant presence in the whole caper and will be in a great position to capitalise.

The decision to send Daisy, Dom and Gus to Melbourne Girls Grammar this morning was a stroke of genius by the club imho, and shows they've got an eye on the long-term gains that can be made from promoting / supporting the women's game.

Pretty sure when the Demonland Banner for 2016 we'll be able to display both the mens and womens team coaches, captains and players.

  6. I have been a massive Jack Watts supporter up until last years game in Adealide when he didn't crash the pack. Luckily Hogan kicked the goal but i thought that if he doesn't get it by now he never will.

This year when the offer of the player on the membership cards came out i thought about it for a while and decided to switch to the Hulk. He's the future.

Jack unless he pulls out a blinder of a year...is a hangover of the past.

  8. 58,000 last year -From memory the minimum attendance required to make it a success was 50,000.

This year should aim for 65,000 as hopefully both teams get off to a good start and more supporters will turn up after seeing the success of last years game.

The pre match service was more reserved and slightly haunting with the flame and the last post.

FYI Eddie - A fair amount of European countries celebrate 2 Christmas days!
