Firstly define a "Tyson" trade and provude examples of how we could acheive it again. If it is so shrewd why would other clubs go for more of these trades? Basically it was a 2 for 2 trade. We helped our midfield somewhat with Tyson and got a development player. We gave them access to a potential superstar and a development player ( I think this pick was traded off to Brisbane who took Darcy Gardner). So the question is, is the upside of Salem over Gardener more then the upside of Kelly over Tyson? We wont know for a while though I wouldnt consider it a bargain and constantly say we should do it with every high pick we have.

We dont know this. A team like Carlton St kilda Bulldogs could defijitely use a player of this calibre and with Pattom off the table may throw up a good offer. He has a family to support so he would need to look at all options. A 600k offer from the Bullies or a 300k offer from the MFC. Could be a tough decision

But Salem isnt. Your doing the classic and telling youself it was a one sided trade. Its wasnt.

I hope we are looking at Wagner. He looks better then half our list and has a good head on his shoulders.
