I said that an hour ago and got shouted down by everyone because Casey were in front.

People talk about having faith in the FD. Whoever made the decissions to give Garland a 3 year deal and Spencer a year extension, have no idea of what makes an AFL footbller.

mo64 is probaly the most level headed and reasoned poster on here. so much delusional crap posted on here most of the time. at best our list is destined for mid table in its current state. it needs so much more for this 'potential' to be anything more than that.

goodwin was far more positive on sen coaches box.

everything seems to be pointing to the fact that jesse is genuinely torn about what to do, and caroline did say that she heard at one stage it was one way, but now she thinks it might be the other, but she genuinely doesn't know.

she's not alone - no one does.

it's all just speculation at this point.

i would rather hogan go if he is torn. last thing we need is him to sign on and in a years time ask to be traded. all in or all out.

A guess that was correct, please, I could do that and big note myself as well, but I share very little of the inside information I have because I believe I shouldn't, every one of us can do that and have a guess, and you have a 50/50 chance of being right.

it usually leaks out just before it is announced officially, as it becomes common knowledge inside the club as the media story is prepared, if it leaks at all.

I have spoken to both players and officials at the club asking about this very thing, and was told what I have written above is more the norm, it is not taken very well if they find somebody leaking stories, particularly about injury or contract issues.

i love how the weird and slightly creepy dude on the scooter is convinced that he would be considered inner sanctum. lol. He would in fact be humoured at training and laughed about behind closed doors.

i take nothing he says as any more than the players being told to humour the guy cause hes the die hard that turns up at training.

I love how any word of an MFC player leaving is shut down as nonsense and the source is more often than not, ridiculed, yet any word of another club's player coming to melbourne is treated with anticipation. Its gold watching it play out time after time. Fair dinkum , most of you lot on here are pathetic cultists. The dozen or so that keep an even keel are a great read but the rest is a pyschs dream

    Sad but true Third Man

i think Jesse will be a gun player but i think he switched off around QB time.

I don't think it is MFC related, more that Freo have made an offer to big to ignore...

i seriously hope i am wrong... Although i think the Weed may become a player who can kick bags in 1-2 years.

yeah to anyone who was happy to look beyond an MFC bias it was pretty clear in that presser when questioned about his future . He suddenyl sounded like a 12yr old boy whos balls had just started dropping , as he spoke about the future of the list etc. Once that line of questioning ended he was back to his normal self, bouncing from foot to foot and speaking normally. 90% of communication is non verbal as we all know. Those who ridicule the observation of clear non verbal signals have their heads in the sand. Interestingly , i noticed throughout the season, those same posters were quick to read the body language of players from other clubs. When it refers to the possibility of one our own departing then its deny deny deny.

And it may bring a final, & than drop out of the scene.  We need proven hard heads that want to win at all costs.  And keep the kids away from they're own bath water.

We do not wanna be another GGCsuns.

im concerned about the group think starting to appear yet again that all we need is games in the kids we have. People have very short memories. Every time a gun is up for trade and i read posters saying we dont need them beciase we have x and y, i cringe. Our list is not as elite as some posters believe and we are in dire need of a lot more talent

We need a hell of a lot more than a matchwinner. Fyfe type.

All we have currently are names, hollow names, who've done stuff all.

yes, it all smells a bit like 2010. everyone caught up in the hoopla of the youngest list , young talent, potential etc etc. It may bring finals but it may bring SFA.

Sure. But when i read that a player is weighing up his situation. I take it with a grain of salt.

I think the cards are already laid out. But just an opinion, having worked in a Newsroom for many years you get good at reading between the lines when an article is written or a camera interview is had.

    bang on SWYL.

Body language ????? Give us a break !!!!  Are you going to read the tea leaves and the coffee grounds as well ?? I've read all of those things as well as the entrails of a couple of chickens. All of which are telling me clearly that Jesse is staying.

ok mate. gee this site is like a religious sect sometimes.

  10. This was all pretty obvious from a long way out , its just that as always, an unpopular opinion on here is ridiculed. Its interesting to watch the momentum of group think slowly swing but , this is all old news.

In my mind, he was gone from the time I saw his mid week press conference at the beginning of the year that I was shot down for commenting on what I still consider to be full of pretty obvious deflection and body language.

Its been clear for months hes out of here but Ill enjoy the site as the demonland egos dance around the topic as it plays out

  11. I think we will rise to mid table / lower half of eight, will unfortunately rise the same time as gws so no premiership glory.

the league will restructure and due to our tiny supporter base and lack of talent amongst that base for board level positions, will eventually either fold or be merged.

mfc, footscray, stkilda won't win another cup

We had a few games in good form, then got shaky again during/since the St Kilda loss.

We've managed to thump two low level teams in that time and come through with a 5-5 record and handy percentage. We're four goals per game better off on the for-against numbers compared to last season.

Clearly we've struggled when our opponents have been able to effectively counter-attack or effectively confuse and break down our own high-risk attacking strategy.

Clearly we have waves of bad form knock five or six players to half their usual production for seemingly random games.

Right now we are neither 'the next big thing' or 'the perennial losers'.

But what drives me crazy, and I think a lot of others, is that in any given week we could look like one or the other.

Hawks, Magpies, Swans and Crows to come. There will be nowhere to hide for the next four weeks. I'm not going to mutter any more about our form until we've done that run of four games.

5-9 and looking at an 8 win season after that leg Id suggest

We have missed some very vital opportunities as a club to stay close to the 8.  Home game losses to St Kilda, PA, and that brain fade against Bummers.  Will now come back to bite us because we fade in games we should win.

Will be lucky to snatch a win before the bye, then all down hill with maybe a win against Gold Coast after the bye.

Coaching group/ Selection Committee must lift its game or we are facing scummy 2nd half of season.

Effort today was just terrible...very tiring this inconsistency.

If you think we are inconsistent then you haven't been watching closely. Today was the same footy as every game since the stkilda.

Very consistent actually. Another that's been intoxicated by beat up wins against two shocking sides

In line to be dropped: Harmes, Kent, OMac, ANB, Newton, Kennedy (if injured), Tyson (if ill).

Too hard to say who will come in until Casey plays but we need a second tall (Pedersen/Dawes), we need to replace OMac who is simply not ready for AFL football right now. Oliver comes back if he's fit, and maybe Grimes or Trengove get their chance.

    Grimes? Chance for what?

seems like the best way to revive a career is to get dropped and wait for d'landers to forget why you weren't making the team in the first place. FFS

Could be the start of a very, very lean run...

I agree. A bit of a tumble down the ladder from here. On a positive , perhaps hogan is getting a reality check as to his worth ??? Long now I know!
