I think we do need to remember that 's still an incredibly tough sport to umpire. Unlike rugby league for instance, it's not predominantly players moving one way or the other. Less salary will hardly be an incentive either. I can imagine Mr Compromised Michael Christian reducing the salary of an umpire who dares report a Collingwood player.

Given Lions have no subs, they may well run out of puff. GC really are a pretty pathetic franchise though.

Very pleased for him. I've been a critic of late and genuinely hope he makes me look silly next week and for the rest of the season.

El, to be honest, he lost me with the interview he gave at the Golf Course with Adelaide mates. That might be just me but I probably now view him from a negative standpoint. He also doesn't appear to carry injury as well as others (of course, that's again me as just an onlooker). But if he doesn't buy in, why play him? He's not the same bloke from our Premiership year. Jaeger O'Meara was a star of the game for a period of time. He's a bit of a plodder (relatively) these days.
