so if he'd continued with marking attempt and smashed his head with his knees and showed no duty of care, he would have escaped suspension

Exactly! If it's a "footy action", consequences be damned! God forbid one should genuinely brace for impact.

They showed a schedule on the website.

    https://www.melbournefc.com.au/teams/training-times

Strange they couldn't include it on the email invitation, as it had been there for sometime.

    11:00am: Event open to public

    11:45am - 12:15pm: team training

12:15pm - 12:45pm: players signing along the fence

12:45pm - 1:30pm: Field open to the public for K2K

    1:30pm: event ends

Yep it seems that I missed that, but might have been a good idea to send an email out with an updated schedule to all those who were originally emailed too. As clearly, we missed that info and completely missed the training session. If you say training is 11am-1:30pm, it is fair to say people might interpret that literally.

  3. Mate and I got there at 11am, only to hear over the loud speaker that they wouldn't be starting training until 11:45am. So we snuck off to the pub, came back at 12:15pm to find all the players wrapping it up and leaving. Email didn't say anything about it being a 30 min training sesh. Totally our bad for coming back late, but it was pretty disappointing that it was so short, especially when the invite said "11am-1:30pm" with no specific schedule.

I agree with Volcano on very little, but I do agree it is a missed opportunity to make a strong statement to your teammates and to your supporters that you’re leaving no stone unturned in overcoming recent disappointments/let-downs.

Agree, but let's spin it the other way. He's taking the time he needs (and has been granted) to enjoy his off season, get away from the city and reset. I'd rather him be happy, healthy and start on time instead of rushing back just to please people.

  5. Let's try to be positive here. We had a clear need for more speed and outside talent. This kid directly addresses that and I'm sure we wouldn't have taken him at 7 if we were sure he'd be there at 13. JT has given us no reason to distrust his ability to find talent (especially bolter talent).

  6. Surely the sensible ruling is to say "if you choose to run, jump and or slide into player from front on, even if it is in the instance of smothering, and you severely concuss them, then you are liable for suspension". I don't care if it was a footy act. Bumping was a footy act, and it's dangerous if done incorrectly. No different here. I'm sure he didn't mean for what happened, but I'm sure he tried to hit him.

My understanding is the tests that the club doc does at the time almost always confirm if it's an ACL. Scans determine the extent.

@Webber will be better placed to expand on this

Yeah spot on, I thought the same thing. So there's no hope! I'm absolutely gutted for him. If by some miracle we win the flag, it'll be his too. He was such a massive part of our run into finals.

  8. Let's say by some miracle that it's not an ACL...I'm wondering what injuries are mistaken for ACLs, and if any of them have him in frame to return in time? I know it's wishful thinking but just trying to get an idea if he has any chance of being okay.

Welcome to the House, who’s house? RAMS HOUSE!!!

Other than Foxtel and game pass, I think mate show some games.

Game pass whilst expensive I loved as I got every Rams game plus I could watched condensed gams of others plus all the shows.

Thanks for that Gorgoroth! I agree the game pass is great, I tested out the free trial and it’s defintely a good investment. I’m more weighing up if it’s worth it this late in the season. Next year for sure!

  10. Hi everyone! I had no idea that there was an NFL thread on demonland! How convenient.

After getting back from a US trip with my American partner, I’m now a newly converted-Rams fan. As I’m not really into cricket, I couldn’t be happier that I’ve found a sport that I can watch while Afl is out of season!!

I wanted to reach out to any other Australia-based nfl watchers...about whether anyone knows of any good places/sites to stream game replays? I considered the NFL game pass but it seems too pricey to buy one this late in the season. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Go Rams ?

  11. I'm getting really sick of clubs like St. Kilda and Carlton getting nominated over us! We're not any worse than they are, in fact this year's ladder would demonstrate we're as good if not better. It just really gets on my nerves when they could flat out reject any interest from us and then go on to be open to a move to Carlton. Or bloody Carlisle nominating St. Kilda! I dunno, good on them...but sometimes I look at it and think really?? We're not THAT bad surely.

    Maybe (definitely) I'm just bitter.

  12. Mitchs latest tweet

    xuU05kf.png

the girl removed her tweet though, anyone know what she said?

What worries me about this is the fact that he's changed his Twitter name from MitchClark11 to mitchjclark.

  13. Surely the AFL are going to suss out If Mitch was to return before deciding whether to give us "special consideration". As PJ mentioned on The Sunday Footy Show, that was one of the club's reasons for applying. If the AFL did give it to us only to have Clark make a comeback, they'd look like fools. I feel that if we are granted special assistance, it'll come with the bearing that Clark is gone.

  14. I asked Nev Jetta about that first goal against Norths (as requested), the team rule if the ball is in that situation (ie in the pocket, inside the 50) is to get it over the line and out of bounds, this rule was not followed, then it was turned over and the defensive structure was not set, as they had been expecting to set up for a boundary throw in, this sounds slow in writing but in real time it all transpired in about 5 or 10 seconds, Roos wants them to be proactive rather than reactive but unfortunately if somebody doesn't follow the rules, it throws a spanner in, hence why after the first few goals, team went reactive not wanting to stuff up

    Did he reply?
