  1. He's not a free agent so West Coast will have to trade for him. In theory they can try and walk him through to the pre-season draft where Jackson can nominate contract terms but this rarely happens. If they finish 17th then they run the risk of North Melbourne claiming him who will definitely have the salary cap space to match. For him to go through to the PSD and nominate contract terms, Jackson would have to be a willing participant and would essentially be giving the middle finger to the club that drafted him, also his mates, and delivered him a premiership (hopefully two). It won't happen. If he wants to go home, we'll get a trade done. How favourable it is will remain to be seen. Their first round pick is non negotiable at the very least in my view.
  2. Interesting. Obviously want him to stay but if he goes their top 2 pick would have to form part of the deal.
  3. Out: Gawn, Turner, M. Brown, Sparrow In: Weideman, May, Rivers, Dunstan Tomlinson as sub for versatile cover.
  4. Are we confident Gawn is going to be able to get up in 9 days time with his back injury?
  5. To quote their ex coach. "Shame on anyone that booed a champion."
  6. Out: M. Brown, Turner, Bowey, Sparrow In: May, Weideman, Rivers, Hunt Rivers and Hunt to the backline and Brayshaw to return to the wing. Probably doesn't matter what we do. Our pressure and structure has fallen away and I don't think we have the fitness to correct it. We played our best footy last year as a front half team and we have barely seen a hint of that this year.
  7. Our fitness is shot and now we are accumulating some injuries. Hard to come back from here.
  8. First Sam Reid and now we make Cox look like a superstar. FML I thought these days were behind us.
  9. Our aerial game has been nothing short of pathetic.
  10. Another goal to bell puts casey 6 goals up. Strong wind our way for that 1st quarter.
  11. Geez AMW has some talent.
  12. Completely different jumpers numbers for pretty much everyone. 1. Bedford 2. D. Smith 3. Laurie 6. AMW 11. McVee 12. Hunt 13. Woewodin 17. Dunstan 21. JVR 24. Rivers 28. Weideman Casey players 5. Steele 9. Grey 10. Buntine 14. White 15. Mcrae 16. Shepard 19. Munro 22. Milford 23. Baldi 26. Bell 29. J. Smith *apologies if I've got the spelling wrong on some players.
  13. 21,757 as per an Sen article. Crowd numbers have been suspiciously absent for some games on the AFL website. We got more to our Freo (+8,000) and Sydney games (+11,000). Haven't seen the media go hard on the tiger fans yet though.
  14. Mihocek in doubt with knee bone bruising while Jamie Elliot looks likely to line up against us according to this article. https://www.afl.com.au/news/776300/pies-forward-brody-mihocek-in-doubt-for-blockbuster-but-jamie-elliott-set-to-return
  15. So May has allegedly been punched in the head, while recovery from a concussion... while alcohol affected? This could have ended so much worse. Just dumb from everyone involved.
  16. This week could prove to be a catalyst to get back into form. The team is feeling some serious heat for the first time this year and should be out to prove a point.
  17. The rumour on here was we tried to offload him last year to get more trade collateral to facilitate a deal for Cerra. There were either no takers or the offers were so poor it wouldn't have helped us. We subsequently signed him for two years and not long after Cerra nominated the Blues as his destination of choice. No idea if any of this is true or not but it's clear the club don't rate him anymore. Wouldn't surprise to see Weid request a trade at seasons end if he can't get a run at it in the back half of the season. A key position forward must be high on the agenda come trade and draft time. We can't rely on Brown and McDonald this year let alone next and JVR shouldn't be expected to perform at a consistent level for another 3-4 years.
  18. I would suggest we aren't in a loading phase at the moment. Makes little to no sense to be doing that now so far out from finals. I suspect that our loading phase last year might have coincided with our fluctuating performances between rounds 15/16 - 20 just before we went on our 7 game winning streak.
  19. Picked up another 25 touches off the half back line and named 2nd best on in Dandenongs win over the Rebels.
  20. Very good from the 3/4 of the game I saw. Already looks a class above at this level.
  21. The bye can't come quick enough, a lot of players out of form. In: Weideman, May Out: B. Brown, Tomlinson Sparrow has been poor for a while but don't think we have an ideal replacement for him. Don't think Weideman is the answer either but BB can't stay in the team with his form over the past month. With McDonalds ankle rumoured to be cactus, we are quickly running out of key forward options.
  22. Our defensive system seemed to fall over at times. Was unusual seeing Hunt one out in defence on paply with no back up.
  23. Turner's an absolute jet. Hard backline to break into but reckon we've found one here.
  24. You're all over the Nab league WJ. Is there a live feed to watch the game or are you watching it at the ground? I have the nab league app but can only watch replays after the game is finished, usually the next day.
  25. Not sure what Bailey Smith was thinking with that headbutt. There was at least 5 other Geelong players he should have gone for first.
