  1. Slight tangent - apologies - but a post-xmas house clean has unearthed a 2002 Signature Collection of rare old tawny port with the great man's photo and signature on the label. Must have bought it at the time. Quite sad really when I saw his first and last games wearing the No. 2, and most in between. Back to topic.
  2. I was at the Sept Club too in the SEN tent...saw Danger who was well and truly past talking at that stage. Don't blame him either. Wouldn't be in the mood to discuss his career with tanked fans m'thinks. Oh, saw a lot of love between Molloy and Tex Walker. I have a sore neck from looking up at Nic Nat. Mathew Richardson, nice bloke, was tired of doing selfies. Used the gents beside Heppell - didn't think it was the right time to mention supplements though.
  3. Rarely post but feel it's time to wonder/ask if Roos has now the courage to strip this team of NQR's back to a core number of genuine players - may be less than a dozen - and start an effective rebuild once and for all. Time will tell soon enough to know if the will is there m'thinks...
  4. Only rarely do I engage, but being stuck at home behind a computer writing another drab booklet for a client sends me a bit silly at times unless I can daydream about potentail line-ups for 2014. This idle navel leather gazing has been a past time of mine, rather sadly, since the 70s. Eventually I'll select one that wins a premiership. Anyhow, here's one of my all too infrequent contributions. FB: Terlich Frawley Garland HB: Toumpas McDonald Grimes C: Watts N Jones Viney HF: Howe Dawes Vince FF: Hogan Clark Kent R: Gawn Tyson Michie I: Trengove Cross Jones Sub: Salem (P9 - like the sound of this kid)
  5. He'd be an absolute gem to get over to the bright side...I've asked him a couple of times to leave the dark forces, all to his amusement, but he'd never leave the Pies. Entire Buttifant family just great people. Go to Pies website and track down info on NICK Foundation. David is behind it. For anyone interested in reading this thread though, I was at a small and invitation only Collingwood function earlier this year when H. O'Brien (also a really nice bloke, very genuine and down to earth) and Malthouse spoke about commitment. During his speech Mick made it very clear to the small audience that he'd leave Pies if there was nothing left for him to do there or made him 'passionate' about staying on. Don't know what all the hoo haa is all about Mick's departure. Unless he can find an ongoing personal challenge, he'd leave he said. It was said for all to hear and none of the Pies members in the audience gasped for air. He definitely struck me as a bloke who meant what he said. That's just a tid bit for anyone interested in the 'will he' 'won't he' MM debate. He also told a great story about the process he followed to clean up WCE when he went over. Very funny indeed. No prisoners were taken! If he does come to Dees, he will rock our house to its foundations!
  6. i know the Buttifants really well...not a snow flakes chance of David leaving Collingwood...but the nicest guy you'd ever wish to meet
