Oh really? When did Humidor race, today? I loaded up on Arcadia Queen with bonus bets but should have backed Bivouac as well. The double was there obviously ... the 2 best horses at the top of their game. About to watch the replays but both sounded like they were ultra-impressive winning in style
  2. I'd be interested to know whether the Senate, House and/or Pres vote is on the same ballot And if they are separate, do the numbers match up (in totality) Gut feeling is that Republicans voted for their candidates in the House & in the Senate and then simply didn't vote for either candidate for the Presidential election. For instance, it's looking like the Senate will have strong Republican influence But even a 2% informal vote against Trump can make the world of difference in such a closely run race And there is nothing wrong with voting for the Right as far as I'm concerned. I'm probably 60/40 but I don't agree with a number of policies on either side. And equally, there's a lot to like on both sides. In Australia I reckon we end up with the right sort of mix Although the Americans might see the Liberal party here as Socialists! My wish is for those on the Left & Right to critique their own side with honest appraisals. Makes for much more interesting debate and a greater consensus But that will probably never happen ... especially with the rusted on types. They won't give an inch Kysa! haha
  3. It's becoming clear that the Republicans voters have continued to vote for their candidates in the House & in the Senate but a percentage have shifted away from Trump and either haven't voted for him at all or voted for Biden It's not a bad system where you can do that. The conscience vote. Could have happened 4 years ago except Hillary was just the wrong alternative. Biden is seen differently thus the shift in thinking (and the numbers only needed a slight shift in percentage terms)
  4. Racism is often well disguised dieter A wolf in sheeps clothing and all that. People get sucked in. Happens in politics, religion, sport etc etc Related: Many racist Trump fans will not only deny their own racism but will maintain that Trump isn't a racist either And they will do it en masse so as to sound convincing. It's clever - like a previously agreed to pact But anyone with half a brain will see through it all
  5. His main 'Attribute' is his blatant racism And that has huge appeal to racists Racism = Narrow mindedness = Trump fans I've met hundreds of racists in my time but not many of them (if any) ever admit to being a racist Many are successful people, good people on the surface of things but nonetheless, racists And people like Trump empower these people. He is music to their ears In a way it's a good thing because they identify themselves Put it this way ... how can a non racist vote for a white supremacist like Trump? Say No To Racism
  6. Hindsight tells us that Trump should have been urging his supporters to post in their votes early much like the Democrats did Because on the day his fans might decide (like half of America 'usually' does) to not bother voting. I mean, how easy is it to fill out a ballot and throw it in a post box? Absentee voting was allowed in many States so why not take advantage? COVID would have kept people away from the ballot box as well so there's another reason. He doesn't always play the wrong card in terms of what works for him but I believe he did in this instance

On the 'Get On' racing show last night all the lads were on a same game multi with the Packers featuring but I thought taking the under 50.5 was the only risk. Games between the 2 sides can be high scoring. Unlucky Gorg, all the same
  8. I don't see Biden as a bad person in any way dieter. He is a decent man ... it's just that I would have preferred a younger candidate. And I'm not an ageist either So he'll be very diplomatic and might even be able to unite the USA again. But it's a difficult assignment especially without 'possibly' having a majority in the Senate. He'll need to find a stack of energy to cope. Big job ahead (if he wins) Harris on the other hand is a good back-up. I really like her style. Maybe hardtack will be correct in his appraisal that Biden will only go 2 or 3 years (again, if he wins) By the way if it ends up at 269 for both candidates Trump would almost certainly be the POTUS as the Republicans hold sway on the tiebreaker 26-22 So Biden needs to hold on to Georgia and win Pennsylvania, Arizona or Nevada It's still not quite over but others would call it for Biden
  9. It's the gift that just keeps giving Meanwhile Donald is busy carving his initials into the Oval Office furniture (not fake news)
  10. 'Planet America' on right now on the ABC (Channel 24)
  11. It's like death by a 1000 cuts for Trump Slowly but surely the Battleground States are slipping away. Slowly slowly You can just picture him watching FoxTrumpNews* right now squirming in discomfort *To be fair I'm listening to CNN Radio and they are biased to the left like nobody's business!
  12. Well he's a White Supremacist so there's that DJ From there join the dots and you'll have your answer He taps into people's fears. Very good at it too Say No To Racism .

    Packers, Pats, Ravens
  14. How about this one for logic (Trump-style) He and his crazed followers are calling for the vote to be stopped. "Stop the Count" (ad nauseum) But if that happened then Biden would be declared the winner as he leads in enough States to win So we should grant them their wish yeah? ?

@layzie @Gorgoroth @DemonDave @Dr. Gonzo @JV7 @Dappa Dan @titan_uranus @DeeSpencer @Clintosaurus @Dee Zephyr @Go the Biff 2 Points on offer this week ... and another scoreless result in week 8! The Packers @ 49ers game is still earmarked to be played tomorrow but it might be postponed. Either way, we'll count the game in whenever it gets played Leaderboard Tipping Comp 6 - Clintosaurus, Go the Biff, titan_uranus, DeeSpencer 4 - Gorgoroth, Dee Zephyr, DemonDave, Macca 3 - JV7 1 - Layzie, Dr. Gonzo
  17. You are almost certainly right DJ but here's some detail ... Waiting on Nevada but the votes are coming from Clark County (Las Vegas) which had a majority of Democrat votes in the last election 52% - 41% Might not find out for another day but don't rule out some sort of attempted injunction

  19. Virtually over the line in Michigan with only Nevada to clinch the win. And Biden is coming home with a wet sail in Pennsylvania. North Carolina & Georgia can't be ruled out either. The postal votes are running at 78% in the Democrats favour in some of the undecided States The betting agencies have Biden at $1.19 with Trump at $4.50. Not that I'm encouraging gambling but the betting agencies are nearly always on the money.
  20. The gap is now down to 12k in Michigan with 90% of the votes counted. Biden leads by 21k in Wisconsin with 95% of the votes counted Biden is hunting Trump down! It's a barnburner!
  21. That's a 150k catch-up in quick time. Same thing happened in Wisconsin. It looks a bit dodgy but not if blocks of votes for one candidate are put aside for a final check Nevada is tightening up at the same time though ... less than an 8000 lead to Biden with only 67% of votes counted in that State.
  22. No chance dp ... the workings of the MFC is an even greater mystery than the US electoral voting system! Just when you think we're up and running we fall into a huge chasm again As always, with regards to the Demons, we live in pure hope!
  23. Yeah I'm watching it right now Jara but they are both 'barracking' a tad! Could be wrong I intimated earlier this arvo on this thread that blocks of votes for 1 candidate can be put aside to be re-checked and then soon after added to the total That might explain Biden bridging a 100k gap in Wisconsin in quick time If more of that sort of thing happens Biden might just get up. The counting of the votes and when those votes are counted in is a bit of a mystery. CBS Radio mentioned the above a number of times today. It ain't over yet but we'll find out at daybreak here you'd imagine. Or maybe it could drag on for days
  24. Has not the State of Maine been settled? Yep but Biden is over 200k behind in Michigan with 82% of the vote counted. He'd need to get a move on But Biden bridged a 100k deficit in Wisconsin in quick time. Hasn't won there yet but 95% of the vote has been counted in Wisconsin
