I did Old Dee, had a pleasant night just watching footy with my two boys. They are getting older now and spending quality time with them is becoming a rarity. The oldest has always loved footy and has a great understanding of the game, my younger boy has got into watching footy over the last couple of years, so despite the weather great to spend a night out with them. Neither follow the Dees, but they do when we play West Coast

Agree we were in total control Natanui and Yeo were dead on their feet before their little half hour rest. Winning last week and this week in really bizarre circumstances shows a lot of character

Welcome to Demonland: Taj Woewodin

I saw him play last season for Aquinas and he just looked okay. 2021 was his draft year, but he injured his knee last year and is only coming back. He’s a big unit, taller than Paddy and could be a late boomer, but don’t see him being like his brother -

Another big performance for East Freo Colts in the Port Derby vs South Freo today. 25 disposals and by all accounts battled it out with Josh Cripps( Paddy's brother) for BOG honors- 612 replies

I don’t love him, he’s benefitted from our geographic isolation, which made it very easy for him to adopt this policy. It’s not the easiest of states to get into with only the main arterial roads to worry about. If you want to take your chances coming in the back tracks, you better hope you don’t break down or you have plenty of back up fuel and water. He was an odds on 1 term Premier until Covid

Subiaco Oval is now a school football oval. The stands are all gone and only the old entry gates remain. Optus will be fine if required it’s only week 1 with 4 games where they will spread them across Thursday through Sunday

Wouldn’t be surprised if the AFL are in discussion with McGowan and the WA government for a 4 week finals hub in Perth, the way things are panning out, 7 day quarantine for all 8 teams during the pre finals bye. TV and gate revenue to recoup some lost funds over the last 2 seasons. Still a lot at risk if it gets into WA

I get that, and if everything is equal I want nothing more than to see the boys at the last day in September at the G, but this is a unique beast and be it Optus, Adelaide Oval wherever I want to see the showpiece game in front of a full house and the players able to share the moment with supporters and go through all the emotions that past Premiership players have doing a lap of honour in front of a crowd
-
Yeah let’s plan to play the show piece game in front of an empty stadium with no atmosphere and not plan to play it in front of a full house just in case the call a snap lockdown (because they’ve done it 3 times in 18 months), I think I know what the players involved would prefer

Very good post

Yes, I have seen them do it many times before. The cliff is coming for them but they still have plenty of talent to do a number on teams
-
There’s no other supporter base anything like them. They are full of self entitlement and believe the world is against them. A lot of their fans have absolutely no idea about the game. One thing I will give the Dockers fans is that generally they have an understanding of the game with so many of them coming from East and South Freo in the WAFL days

Yes and if people are complaining on missing the opportunity to get to a GF because they couldn’t get the Pfizer jab. That’s the choice they make and every choice we make in life has some form of consequence.

In most counties (except Kilkenny where it’s Hurling only) you would alternate between Football and Hurling each week -

Darren is a fireman now, last I heard -
But apparently of the 16 free kicks the Suns got in the game yesterday, every second one of Viney’s 22 possessions led to 7 holding the ball free kicks ???

No chance, They will respond this week after letting Hurn down and are under the microscope in WA big time. We need to respond to what they throw at us early and be switched on. We know they will play with 3 talls inside 50. Our forward pressure if maintained from yesterday should see us create plenty of opportunities as this is a weakness in their defensive set up
