Dean Kent retires
The play i will always remember is the amazing kick from outside 50 that helped us seal a win against West Coast in one match....too [censored] to recall when it was but recall it was a meaningful win.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - KYSAIAH KROPINYERI PICKETT
I never normally float my own boat.... but once in a blue moon... Demon Dynasty Posted November 7, 2019 Not many players have an immediate impact when they first step up to a senior level of footy. Kicked 6 in one match at reserve level... Doesn't find much ball? ..quality small forward don't need to find alot of it and tend not to a la Jeffy, Cyril etc to make a quality impact. How often have we heard the phrase "give me 15 quality touches vs 30 that are mostly rubbish or result in mostly turnovers anyday". You can't compare him to anyone at AFL level at this point (statistically) ...he hasn't played. Rediculous comparison. What attributes does he have well let me name a few... > Has a great leap ...equal 9th in the running jump at combine. Can take an awesome specky and also alows him to keep the ball alive in the air at times (eg; tapping a high bouncing ball or one off a pack to advantage) or defend from behind if needed. > Doesn't lose his feet easily > Fierce tackler > Great follow up second efforts including repeat tackles > knows where the goals are (sixth sense off one or two steps) and clever at reading / waiting off the ball and crumbing. > Bides his time just outside the main scrum sweating on the spillage or loose ball without getting sucked into the contest. If he already has all this at his tender age....imagine how much further upside there is with a few pre-seasons and experience at the highest level. Edited November 7, 2019 by Rusty Nails 1

Must be a family issue with Petty. Hope not but certainly unusual to see this sort of reaction

GAMEDAY: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
I notice the rubbish default kick to the FP has been turned on its head. The default is now lowering vision for the hit up pass...or kicking to the hot zone just outside the square. The surprise marginal option is now kicking out to the flank or pocket then cutting straight back in on the angle. And look at that...we've scored our rough average score for the season in the first half!

Well this 4th Maker's mark is going down well. The two mountain goat starters didn't even touch the sides. A bit like our kicks for goal... straight down the middle. We're ahead yeh?

Footy Classified
It's easily the worst Footy show doing the rounds. Rarely watch more than a few minutes and that's mostly an accident. The remote gets a quick workover as soon as i see/hear Caro or Ed

Footy Classified
The same is happening with SEN, albeit it's been a staged takeover for a number of years now since they started bringing Bucks on in a weekly segment when he was coaching. Now there's Bucks and Mcrae doing the rounds. The amount of coverage of the Pies is sickening in the media including their unoffical daily the HUN. Can only hope they go out in straight sets.

TEAMS: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
Probably the hit out the FD wanted even if it was heavy under foot. Possibly had a somewhat lighter week on the track vs most to counter the Sunday match. Gus to JJ's wing yes? Don't think we used a run with on Neale when we smashed them last time. Possibly Harmes to Rayner.

TEAMS: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
Most likely to JJ's wing and Harmes to go to Neale or maybe Rayner

100% about the coffee. The Stones also pioneered the coffee analogy into rock & roll with their very raw... "Brown Sugar"- TRAINING: Monday 15th August 2022
Hey he might have written that at the age of 12 to 17 WC. At least i hope so!- Ben Rutten
Looks like a fair chunk of the playing group threw him under the bus on Sunday.- TRAINING: Monday 15th August 2022
Thanks Kev. My understanding is they're flying up there Thirsday yes? That would mean a full training run at Casey tomorrow?- TRAINING: Monday 15th August 2022
Thx again Kev. What time do they usually hit the track? Im assuming back tomorrow morning?- CHANGES: Rd 23 vs Brisbane
Smith looked a fair way off VFL pace let alone AFL on Sunday for mine. Highly unlikely. Same with Harmes. JVR was mostly unsighted. Can't see him coming in this season.- POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
Very similar. I loved that series. Def showing our age. This one's the ABC Radio 3LO version. There's a few ripper retro one's around. Love the old 1970s or was it early 80s Demon the Demon Army has up lately. Looked great on the box agter Kozzy's amazing goal on Sat- Veil of Negativity
HBT i would ask that you restrain yourself from posting such positive things on the veil of negativity thread. P.S. Rhys Stanley also out with an adductor strain- If everyone played each other once
We should only play each other once. Anything more is just for the money. Completely nonsensical to play extra odd games otherwise.- POSTMATCH: Rd 22 vs Carlton
I just watched the first half. We didnt do much wrong other than... Key forwards not playing in front often enough, namely BB. Jackson was better here when forward but both he and BB run under the ball far too often when they do play in front. Fritta does some nice things. Including good pressure inside 50. Then often isn't quite aware or cognisant of the team things after he disposes (eg; shepards) and or staying down when he's coming from behind into a 1 v 1 marking contest for the potential spill. Team stuff pls Fritta especially when you're higher up the ground. The other issue which we keep harping on about. Gettable set shots at goal. Namely... Maxy, LJ & Spargo. Get two of those three we go into the half 20 points up and we have a decent margin without needing the 2 minute maniacal play at the bell ...plus the luck needed to pull off the miraculous win. Watching Max kick from a very slight angle 35 out in the first quarter... His run up is too slow. Too much time to think it over. As he runs in he slowly gathers a bit of momentum and starts to look like he might hit it sweet and he appears like he is almost running at the middle of the goals. But thats where it ends. The momentum seizes up a little on the last few steps. Finally as he plants his left foot to kick off his right...the left foot goes on a 45 degree angle pointing to the left. His body then rotates to follow that foot out to the left as he leans back to try for a little more power off that last step. And guess where he puts the ball? Yep...in the direction the left foot is facing... left (hook!). Someone seriously needs to get hold of Maxy between now and finals and correct the whole method or at least ensure that the last step has him planting that left foot in line with the goals.... not like a duck's foot...out to the left. And running with more momentum over the ball as he kicks through it...not easing/leaning back on the last few steps. Easier said than done of course. - TRAINING: Monday 15th August 2022
