  1. The old scoop off the ground and not one of the chanel 7 nuffies said a thing haha
  2. Yes noticed that. Interesting. Been in great form at Casey. Hands are as good as anyone's at senior level imho .... i'm still to be convinced by foot and shooting at goal on the run. Set shots within range he seems pretty good. He'll get a turn at some point surely.
  3. Smart coaching by Ken. Going 1 v 1 a fair bit across the park and closing off the usual outlets for the Saints off HB.
  4. VN transistion off HB there by the Saints. The vision from behind the goals showed a few of the Saints small/medium HFs all run at the ball carrier away from goal. Drawing their opponents with them for a split second giving Butler a fair bit of space to work in out the back.
  5. Bont said the same thing about the season being longer off an already grueling schedule. Makes sense. The attempt to grind our way through the supposed minor niggles last season not such a good idea in hindsight.
  6. It's a sad state of affairs with seemingly no improvement or adjustment on the horizon Uncle. In fact it appears to be worsening by the week. I'm more frustrated than an Amish electrician
  7. HTB on Horne Francis ignored 2 Port players running into the protected zone from behind in the one piece of play.... both ignored The protected zone is no longer it seems accept if you're Rick Lever
  8. I never said he was Sydee
  9. I disagree with that. Its all about timing. Other clubs do it quite a bit. Geelong last season managed their seniors beautifully. Brad Scott openly managing Dyson Heppell this week etc. It's alao a bit to do with depth and the state of your injury list. Arrogance is old school thinking imv.
  10. Approx 2 to 3 weeks away HR
  11. Yes probably a waste of time speculating given that history does say otherwise
  12. Seniors probably not the best term in hindsight. Experienced campaigners!? Anyone with niggles or who needs a freshen up and/or coming back from a substantial rehab who we can cover off with either like for like (to a certain degree) and/or don't necessarily need two of. Maxy being the obvious one with the first week after a long layoff supposedly the hardest to recover from in terms of soreness and time..... at least that's what some ex players claim is the hardest week anyway. Grundy is quite capable of taking Goldy this week. Maybe Clarke just to freshen him up for the next block of matches and have Dunstan cover his role? Harmes for Hunter a possibility also? Im not saying all three either. Just mooting the options as possibilities to consider.
  13. Similar here... feels like a great opportunity to manage up to two or three seniors was missed.
  14. https://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/1317507/neal-bullen-signs-three-year-deal
  15. Think that's my fav moment from the post flag celebrations... This nb also... A true professional in every sense of the word from the time he arrived. Even at Casey on occasions his intent, hunt and attack at oppo & the pill is full on. What a great example for those around him down there. Coaches must enjoy having him on board. Very understated fella. No fuss. Gotta love Hibbo.
  16. INS – White, Laurie, Melksham, J.Smith, Buntine, Duursma OUTS – Edwards, Simpson, Valentine, Grey, Neocleous, Shepherd Team Selection | Round 6 VFLW & VFL
  17. Yes its a pretty harsh assessment BB although he was on for a tad more than that (approx 11 min). Watching him in the replay he did cough a couple up late. As i said i reckon he'll be fine but he's also competing with the likes of Harmes & Dunstan for that sub spot yes? Both of whom appear to be in slightly better form at Casey atm even though Bill's form is also pretty good at that level.
  18. White is back this week
  19. I'm too scared to ask QD Besides i will probably end up spending time in the DL dungeon with Igor!
  20. πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ Is Clarke is good! Modest & usually flies under the radar!
  21. The term for this week's prepping (according to Brenton Sanderson) is 'Active Rest' apparently. So hyberbaric chamber for those with corkies / bruised up pretty bad, ice baths, physio, massages, down the coast for a dip for some etc. The idea is to stay moving or rehabing without much emphasis on big sessions on the training track. While you obviously have to put a session into the mix (a la this morning) that session is very targeted towards selective players and most likely tightly controlled / governed by the HP team in conjunction with the player/s of course. Probably light on with the contact drills as well. The above is what i picked up from Sanderson ...obviously every club/team/HP team does things slightly differently.
  22. Thanks again Kev Any sign of Harmes? How did Clarry look? Looked pretty off/spent at last week's run (for obvious reasons).
  23. Yeh i doubt anyone can actually close Nick down but have to at least try. Even if it means half of his possessions are a bit off the mark/dirrty vs his usual clean stuff... that's a win. KB haha...Comb over clash! P.S. i'm more often wrong than right with these things. Like throwing darts at the board from 50ft after 3 pints and no glasses!
