I think Max King is going to be a good player, and is clearly talented, but Roo is going to be just as good and is much more likely to stand up in a big final given how physical he is. Nothing better than watching him launch at a pack. Love his confidence and his maturity.

The ideal outcome is that he becomes a really good shut down small defender and it allows us to unleash McVee to play higher up the ground. McVee kicking inside 50 = winning

It’s basically the only timeslot you can take younger kids to IMO. Left the house at 11:30 and home by 5:00. It’s ideal. I love a night game but it’s definitely a solo outing for me (with other family and friends but not the kids)

I still don’t know how they’re so bad. They have Waterman, Allen and Ryan up forward. They have Yeo, Kelly, Reid in the middle and McGovern, Duggan and Barras down back. That’s some good players who would get a game for any side.

Absolute trash. Last week the commentators said Kolt was acting when he was hit from behind by Zorko. If he played for Melbourne he’d be shot down by every “supporter” and the media for carrying on like a pork chop.

He rarely loses an aerial contest, so for me that’s a big plus. I would like to see him Petty and Roo in the same forwardline for a while with Fritta, Melksham and Chin at ground level. I think we can afford to play all 3 while we don’t have anyone to backup Max.

Gawn missing that last quarter showed how desperate we are for a second ruck option. If it was a close game, having to drag a red hot Roo out of the goal square in order to ruck, leaving Disco as the only tall, would have likely cost us the game.

Of course he may mature and get better, but he has coaches and teammates who should tell him to stay humble and focused. If he was a Melbourne player our fans would be picking on his attitude, as would the media. There’s no doubt he’s a very talented player, but football is a team game and when your team is getting pantsed, you need to put your head down and do the work. Not go around arguing with umpires and picking fights.
