Ricky Petterd's kicking is terrible, just terrible. Which is a shame, because he is a good player otherwise. Very good mark for his size. Great tackle from Newton, and Dunn dominating. Both seem to have found their level. McKenzie's clearance work is brilliant, and Jurrah's handball to Newton just now was pure magic.

I know, he literally bends down and places the ball on the foot. So funny. Still, it does the job and that's all that matters. He hasn't missed a target yet. Where's Valenti??

Great strength and a great handball from Martin for a Jetta goal. Spencer is clumsy but he has so much potential. His recovery after dropping that handball was impressive for someone so big.

I just bought the software too, and it is great. My laptop tends to crack the shits a lot (that's what you get for not buying a Mac), especially since I use Adobe programs regularly. But this anti-virus software doesn't seem to slow anything down, or interfere with anything. In fact, you never even notice it. Kaspersky is not seen or heard, but just seamlessly blends into the background. Now if only we can get umpires to behave in the same way

I wouldn't want to have a go at Jack if Beamer, McLean, Sylvia or Jamar are around. All four could flatten someone like Maxwell in five seconds. But if you really want to protect Jack, get Whelan to play near him. A couple of skull-shattering spear tackles on Jack's opponent will do me fine! :D

Where did you hear Brock's rebuttal? The media is really losing the plot lately. For Brock to even have to comment is a joke. It was a training method, Watts got mildly hurt boxing against a physically mature player. Oh no, will somebody please think of the children?!

There is no doubt they'll target him both mentally and physically (and I hope if the shoe was on the other foot that our defenders would do exactly the same). But I am sure our boys are aware of the treatment he is likely to get and I have no doubt they will protect and defend him accordingly. If he plays on the wing and pushes into the middle I'm sure Moloney, McLean and Sylvia will help him out if any Scum player decides to give him one or two bumps behind the play. If he plays up forward, well I hope Jamar is there alongside him. I would not want to mess with the Russian!

I think that's the right thing to do, as ultimately Martin will be squeezed out of the backline when Garland returns. Since he is raw, and still developing, making his learn a new position will be of great benefit to us. We still need to find another tall forward, and if Martin can learn the craft and make an impact as a forward it will ensure he will become a starting 18 player for years to come.

My friend asked me about the swine flu thing, and I tired using the Chuck Norris analysis (you know, Jack Watts doesn't get swine flu, swine flu gets Jack Wattsed), but they didn't get it. Stupid inbred Carlton supporters! That has to be the most painful two hours of my life, and the five minute interview they had with Jack was hardly worth it. The kid is awesome, but the Footy Show is a disgrace! Well his mum is a nurse, and had a swine flu scare, so they tested her, and had to wait for the blood test results to come through before they could make the announcement that Watts was playing (and Watts himself also had to wait). Apparently they were going to announce it on Monday and try to plug the game a bit... don't think the two day delay has hurt the publicity though :D

Yeah maybe during pre-season training, but he won't spent too much time at Casey during the season... we hope The rest of us also need our share of Stef Martin Brilliant news for the club, and one that will benefit the team immensely. Having a consistent, modern training facility that does not fall apart (I drive past Junction Oval almost daily and that place is just terrible!) will be sensational.

So did I actually, but that's besides the point because my comment was clearly tongue in cheek (and Martin obviously wasn't dropped to do his exams, and his studying would not be impacted by whether he plays AFL or VFL, as both would require the same preparation)

Stef spent two weeks studying for his VCE exams and got 99.5... he'll be right. In fact, he's gonna do his, then he's going to do mine Maric had a superb first half last week, and his disposal has been top quality. Dropping him, particularly when we are screaming for small forwards (which I know is not where he has been playing, but it is what he is!), will be madness.

Definitely. He has played in a foreign position, where the ball is never seen, for two weeks. Hardly his fault. Perhaps they are dropping him to try and learn the position at a lower level? I agree that the bench sucks, but for me I would drop PJ and play a small bench with Maric, Jones, Bennell and Cheney. For one, the Pies have a number of dangerous smalls that need covered, and secondly Cheney desperately deserves a game, while PJ has been ordinary. Problem is that with Martin dropped, there is little chance PJ will go. Edit: if Junior misses this may not be an issue and we can play them both. Is it wrong to hope that he does?? I would really like to win this week, and obviously so does Bailey. Robbo is a proven performer, especially in these games and I am satisfied that if he has been named it is because he has done what was required of him at the lower level. At the end of the day Robbo is a far superior player and this is a big big game for us. Plus, we need to surround Watts with a bit of experience, and given Miller was dropped, I think playing Robbo is a smart move.

I'm surprised nobody has brought up the pathetic, overreaction media-beat up of today's story re: Watts and McLean in the boxing ring. Actually, the whole thing is so pathetic that it is probably not worth mentioning.
