  1. Do a search on Demonland and you'll discover that this idea was already discussed years ago
  2. 192cm players need not apply?
  3. Good to see Watts is apparently now fit. Hope he plays the last two games.
  4. We have nothing worth a first round pick that we want to trade... unless you want to trade Morton, Watts, Grimes or Garland.
  5. Agreed. All 3 guys deserve proper, dignified farewell matches at the MCG in front of our members (whoever turns up <_< ). Even if we had 3 kids to play in their place, which we don't, one less development game for the sake of giving these guys what they deserve for 10+ years of service, is a very worthwhile consequence. I'd be [censored] off if Newton or Zomer or even Watts get a game ahead of Robbo in Round 22 and I miss out on seeing him that one last time. I'm sure plenty of supporters would feel the same in regards to all/any of the three.
  6. I'll print it out and stick it on my wall if you find one.... a constant reminder that I am probably going to fail the final 3 months of my degree because talking about Cale Morton is just so much more exciting. Speaking of which, the only potential issue I see with our future forward line is that all of our bigger guys excel at playing up the ground and are best utilized there due to their agility, ball use and creativity. Watts, Jurrah and Morton would all be wasted somewhat as pure stay-at-home forwards, while Bate is yet to show that he can play that role. If we can't develop Martin in that role (I think we can), do we continue to rotate the big talls between deep forward and half forward, creating confusion and match-up problems for the opposition, or would that just create confusion for us? And how do we ensure the Aussie/Maric get enough ball spillage to work with, if we don't have a physically big unit that can bring ball to ground at FF?
  7. Not nearly as sad as the fact that, in an effort to save time on replying, I googled appropriate images to depict my feelings, eventually spending just as much time in formulating this pictorial response as it would have taken me to type out a response... A+ in procrastination!
  8. It's not just you, but to his credit his kicking the last two weeks has seen a real improvement. He is finally lowering his eyes and hitting guys with slicing passes straight on the chest. Very pleasing to see, and could be the result of playing under less pressure than normal, but at least we know he is capable of such disposal quality. Not to harp on about the fitness thing again, but he seemed a lot better for the two weeks rest. He was refreshed and bouncing around with a lot more power in the legs. Then some Freo toolbag dropped him in the tackle and slammed him into the ground (where the hell was the free? ) and he was limping a bit afterwards. I guess it's not a good Brocky game if there is no injury involved (yesterday there was blood too, so a complete game from him :D)
  9. No time to comment in words, as I'm trying desperately to get some work done, so...
  10. I guess to make it easier for you I should have said that he is not a traditional KP forward, given that you are either really confused or playing dumb. Brad Johnson and Alan Didak are two very good players and I'm happy that you compare them to Robbo. All three are undersized and often find themselves pinned against much bigger, stronger opponents. It is an absolute credit to them that they have managed to play as key forwards. In case you forgot though, Robbo started his career as a small goal sneak and it was through circumstances that he became our number one key forward, not because he was necessarily suited to that role. I have acknowledged many times already that Robbo needs to retire, and that his last 3 years have not been his best, so I am not the issue in this thread. It's you, coming out with comments about Robbo not standing up against good opponents, or when required, that is the problem, because that statement is 100% false when you look at Robbo's career as a whole. But as I said, your long term memory issues mean that you will only see a player through a short-sighted lens. A shame really.
  11. I said "even when given the role of a key forward, which he clearly isn't"... hard to comprehend is it? He is not a key forward by size or by nature, but has been forced to play as an undersized FF for many seasons, and in the last 3 years with woeful delivery, but has made the most of his opportunities, kicking over 400 career goals. He is now clearly in the twilight of his career, and injury, age and the obvious issue of playing in a crap team means he is not performing the way he used to. Neither did Neita in his later years. That does not take away from his career as a whole, and for you to make a general statement about him not standing up against good opponents, or when needed, goes to show how much you miss with your long-term memory issues. Just a small reminder then... Robbo has kicked a total of 138 points in finals since the start of his career. Not bad for someone who only played in 5 final series.
  12. I'd love to see him play as a key forward. Super impressive marking from Cale "Kate Moss" Morton today. He has strong hands, even if I could snap them in half. He is such an incredibly smart player, that even in some contests where I thought "he can't physically win this one", he ended up outsmarting his opponent and taking possession. Will be an absolute gun!
  13. You're wasting your time. For me, Robbo should bow out at the end of this year and retire on a high. He deserves nothing less because he has been a brilliant part of our club for over 10 years and, despite what some people would have you believe, has always stood up in big games against good opponents when we needed him most. He carried our sorry arses over the line many times, even when given the role of key forward, which he clearly is not. It was fantastic to see some vintage Robbo on display today. That's how he should be remembered.
  14. It's in the bag. No way in hell are we losing the PP after the tanking efforts of the past 2 weeks. Fear not, for Scully and Miscellaneous are ours.
  15. Thank you, thank you very much :D
  16. Martin- clearly very injured Why the hell are they playing him, when he was limping for 90% of the game?
  17. Hard to give votes but I want to mention Dunn for doing a really good job on Pavlich, who is one of the best players in the competition and who generally rips us a new one. Dunn has really stepped up since coming back into the team, which is fantastic to see. Valenti was superb. Not sure where his future lies, but he is an animal and plays taller and quicker than he actually is. Jones has finally learnt to lower his eyes when kicking and McLean was good after his rest (but then obviously decided to get himself killed again ). And today was probably the most complete game I have ever seen Davey play. Phenomenal.
  18. THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL! :D I know I know, no opposition, but there were some genuinely great ball movements and the more we grew in confidence the better we played, which was good to see. I'm a big tanking fan, and I want us to lose the next two (which we will easily), but it was great for the boys to have one really huge victory this season to enjoy until next year. Oh and Liam Jurrah is a freak of nature. He turns [censored] into gold.
  19. Nice day to be sitting alone at the G watching a game. I know we're playing a rabble but our ball movement is seriously improving. Davey is cutting them up and great to see some Robbo trademarks
  20. Shut up! I face palmed myself ok?!
  21. The return of Jurrah to the field has brought with it a Jurrahcane *boom boom tish*
  22. This could break the record for lowest attendance ever. Weather is not that bad, it's not even raining, but knowing our supporters, they'll stay at home and watch the game live on Foxtel (what is with that, two weeks running our game has been against live pay TV?!) I'm going with 11,980 and hoping that I'm 10,000 off! Edit: it's now raining so drop the 11,000 and go with 980 :D
  23. Which doesn't mean he is untouchable, just means that he's not all that good and is therefore not untouchable (most players being rated as untouchable would command a top 10 pick, and even then the club will probably not take that deal). If we had the opportunity to trade Green and pick 18 for pick 10, IMO we'd do it. As much as I love Brad Green, if he doesn't become captain, he will never be an untouchable because we can win a flag without him, and realistically probably will anyway.
  24. Tell him that as much as we love him, for a good trade he'll be out the door. At his age, Green may not be part of our next premiership (or will be in serious decline by then) and if we could get a first round pick for him, especially a top 10 pick (not saying we could), I doubt we wouldn't trade him.
