NON-MFC: Round 11
Didn’t even watch the game. Just finished the usual run around of life and checked the scores and laughed and laughed. Gonna enjoy the press conference with a nice glass of red.

The Kalani White Thread
Will the Gold Coast ever be a good team? I feel like I’ve been waiting 20 years and 709 first round picks for that to happen 🙄 Kalani will join us next year so unless you know something we don’t, I think he will definitely still have Max, May and Viney around.

The Kalani White Thread
Playing at the G in front of big crowds every week, learning from some of the best players in the competition, playing for the club his dad played for where he’s formed long standing relationships with Goodwin and the players, playing for a foundation club that’s right in the mix as one of the better sides in the competition… should I go on?

2024 Game Style
I am not a fan of the changes to the game plan, but I am also not a premiership coach. We need to move together with the way the game is moving forward, and that means generating more attack from half back. Have we overcorrected? Yes I think we have Do I think we have the foot skills required to execute this new style of play? No I don't But I applaud Goodwin for trying to come up with new ways for us to play and win. Fans complained that we became easy to play against last year, complained that we lost in straight sets twice, now they are complaining because we are trying something different. They complain because they want us to play the kids over guys like Brown, completely ignoring the fact that we have on average 5 players every week with under 20 games experience. They complain that Goodwin never changes things, yet ignore the fact that we have totally changed our midfield mix with Salem, Kosi, Rivers and ANB spending far more time on the ball than ever before. I think that right now our list is not as good as some others, and we need to keep changing and injecting new players into the mix. We have also once again had some injury worries, which has forced us to make changes to the game plan (losing Gus is a major blow, as was losing Bowey and then Salem, who are 2 of our best ball users). It is also entirely possible that we tried something, realised it's not working, and will now try and change things. The season is still very long. Nobody wins a flag in May.

Luke Parker Strike in the VFL
Parker’s opponent will spend a lot more time recovering than Parker will miss games. Considering he’s a part time player with a full time job, not earning hundreds of thousands like Parker is, this ban would be small comfort for him.

Jake Lever Out for a Month
Tomlinson isn’t an intercept defender hence why he isn’t the right replacement.

I agree that Petty should go back, despite it completely stuffing up any continuity for him trying to become a forward. However we don’t have forward cover either. Brown is unable to run, Schache is no good and injured, and I believe Fullerton is also injured? Playing with only one tall in JVR is not going to work especially as he also has to help in the ruck.

POSTGAME: Rd 10 vs West Coast
This! You think Collingwood hasn’t thrown everything at trying to get a key forward as well? Coleman medalists don’t grow on trees. To suggest we have failed to get one is to suggest there are dozens of quality key forwards just waiting to come to Melbourne. Look at the ludicrous contracts offered to absolute potatoes like Lobb because he’s over 6 foot 5 for crying out loud.

Who? Because both Hore and Disco are injured. So in fact we have 0 intercept defenders right now who are fit.

If an opposition player did that to one of our young guys at Casey, everyone would be RIGHTLY screaming for a lengthy ban. A totally unnecessary and dangerous cheap shot from an experienced AFL player who knows very well where his duty of care is.- COACHES VOTES: Round 10
Absolutely not. ANB, Chin and Kosi were OK, as was Salem in his first game back post hammy. The rest had games they would want to erase from memory. If Steven May has not punched a large hole in a wall post game I'd be surprised.- PREGAME: Rd 11 vs St. Kilda
