Given Cunnington's track record of being a pathetic sniper, I don't know why anyone would question Oliver. He was hit hard, and our players remonstrated as a result. It was what started a whole host of spot fires in that same game.

Having a go at Oliver is one thing, having a go at our medical staff is another. Questioning the credibility of medical professionals, the same professionals who diagnosed Hogan's cancer early, is disgusting. I don't know if the club will say anything, as sometimes rising above is the best answer, but really this is not OK. To blame a doctor for lying in a medical report is actually grounds for losing your medical license, so that's an abhorrent thing to do to someone who's sole purpose is to look after the welfare of our players.

We probably were strong in suggesting that contact was 100% made to Oliver's jaw that needed medical attention to clear Oliver of any serious damage as he was in pain and bleeding. The impact was low, but it was there!

I have a feeling Goodwin is playing Hogan's return down. It would not surprise me if he plays, but they'll keep it low key to try and relief some of the pressure. Not sure how we are going to cover so many injuries. There are only so many B grade players you can carry before it really starts to hurt. Losing Salem and possibly Jeffy is massive, that's a lot of class we can't just find in the VFL.

You would hope that even if we lose this week (which would not surprise me, our players look stuffed and we have a whole host of injuries and players playing under duress), we could win at least 4 more games for the season with games against Carlton, St Kilda, North, Brisbane and Collingwood coming up. Edit: and if we don't beat North finally, we don't deserve to make finals anyway.

I think we can safely assume we will make finals. How far we go I don't know. I think our lack of finals experience is going to hurt. Making finals and winning a game in my opinion will be a fantastic achievement and something to really build on for next season.

Exactly right. What a pathetic and disgusting reaction from the public. A player got hit, deliberately and not in play, and people are saying he is soft and staging. Gees I bet everyone would react exactly the same if it was them, or someone they knew personally getting hit. I think some fresh legs won't hurt. I thought Stretch was good and he looked full of running in the last, no coincidence. With Casey in good form, do we bring in some fresher legs this week? I really worry we won't be able to sustain a 4 quarter effort again after another 6 day break plus a long road trip. Players looked absolutely stuffed last night!
