Not fair. Gibbs might be getting paid nicely at Adelaide, but he also went there because Carlton are a rabble and he's surely after success in the twilight of his career. The only similarities between Lever and Gibbs, is that both wanted to come home to family. Lever chose family and money, but not at the expense of success. He is 21, and he has as much of a chance of winning a flag at Melbourne as he did at Adelaide. And Tex Walker is a [censored].

McDonald is a much rarer commodity than Gaff. While I would love both, you would invest more money and resources into a big KP player who can play forward, back and backup ruck, and kick bags, than an outside mid.

My guess is they will negotiate more years on less coin. Tom probably wants more money than we want to spend, so we are probably countering that with a longer term offer to give him stability. Maybe even offering Oscar an extra year or two as an incentive. Tom is so fit and such an endurance athlete, I would have no issues giving him a 5 year deal. His versatility and aerobic capacity will see him play for another 7-8 years easily (pending any disastrous injury run)

Bugg is not a quality AFL player. He is for the delist pile.

Name one player on our list who you would feel more confident giving the job to than Vince. For me Vince will be invaluable in finals. He is hard as nuts and he gives his all. He is experienced and I think players love him around.
