Out of sheer desperation my friends and I are playing a drinking game tonight where we drink every time our club’s Brownlow favourite gets a vote. My friends barrack for Essendon Carlton and Sydney. I’m going to be plastered.

I know but they are a tiny percentage of our supporter base. The large majority of us are in lockdown and after years of dragging ourselves to games to watch us get destroyed, we are finally on the verge of real success and we don’t get to be there to enjoy it.

Yep everyday is a heavy day in Melbourne. Winning a flag next Saturday will be incredible but it would not be as incredible as it should be. We won’t get to experience the joy we so richly deserve the way every other club has. Covid has robbed so many people of so much. You can add this to the list of things.

I think we can officially say that the next 7 days are going to push us all over the edge. This time next week I will undoubtably be having a complete full blown breakdown regardless of the results.
