You need a LOT of luck to go back to back. With such an old list, injuries will play a big part especially with a short pre season. You would also hope they will have a much harder draw after they win. They will probably try to go back to back but it’s a tough ask.

I was not referring to finals. We were 10-0 and had West Coast and North back to back. We had ample opportunities to rest players who were not right. Lever kept hurting his foot. Salem was never right to return. Gawn rushed back. We absolutely could have rucked Jackson and Weideman for 5-6 weeks and given Gawn a proper rest. We could have debuted JVR and given Brown a month off leading into finals. We took risks that in hindsight cost us dearly.

Let’s hope half the Geelong team retire post win. I’ve had a gutful of these flogs.

We took a risk with May last year and it paid off. Sometimes you gotta take a punt on your most important players.

Dangerfield playing 2 good games in a row. Geelong has had sensational luck this season. Coupled with a dream draw, good player management and a killer forwardline. It was theirs to lose for about 10 weeks now and they don’t seem to want to choke again.
