  1. Anyone with some inside info about Lever’s ankle? How severe is it? Also is Joel Smith ever not rehabbing something? I swear he is never not injured. Poor guy.
  2. The press release is the only reason I am panicking. Why even mention it when the season is still far enough away that a regulation hammy will be well healed in time for round 1?
  3. Gus has said himself that he was never blessed with a good rig and could never get that super toned look some of the other boys have, no matter how fit he was. Not everyone has the same body shape, and the beauty of AFL is that great players come in all shapes and sizes. If Gus is aerobically fit, whether he has a 6 pack or a 2 pack is absolutely irrelevant. Jack Watts always looked like a god out there, but it didn't make him the player we all wanted him to be. Gus has proven time and again that he can play multiple roles to a very high level, and was one of our best players in that third quarter in the grand final just 2 years ago with basically the same body shape. To doubt him now because he isn't sporting a Petracca physique is silly. Ed Langdon is not ripped either, but nobody is having a go at him. P.S.- if only all of us can be this 'unfit' 😅
  4. Hopefully Clarry has no complications with that finger. The fact that he isn't even there running laps is a worry. I suppose he could just be home with Covid.
  5. They might not be pretty, but for athletes who value their feet, they are probably the best 'open' shoe option they can wear. Sure beats thongs.
  6. He seems like a really nice guy. No wonder Collingwood wanted him gone.
  7. The chances of JVR or Brown playing 25 matches each next season are 0 We need to have patience with JVR and understand he is unlikely to go from no AFL games to playing a full season as a key position forward, and likewise Ben Brown will never be able to get through a full AFL season again and will have to be carefully managed. I think JVR will play early and they will manage Brown to be cherry ripe for finals.
  8. 1. JVR comes on and shows us he’s capable of being a future KPF star 2. Kosi signs a long term deal 3. We beat Geelong in all games
  9. Merry Christmas and happy new year to everyone Here is to another flag in 2023.
  10. So other than Gus it sounds like our best 22 are all tracking well. I am surprised and happy to hear that Ben Brown and Tmac are both training fully as I expected both to be limping around on mobility scooters in December.
  11. This obsession needs to stop. Yes we want to have an all in one purpose built facility, but anyone who has been to Casey knows that it is a good solid facility which is getting a massive facelift thanks to a local government keen to grow and develop the area. Our players are hardly turning up to a rat infested Junction Oval and sharing a single dumbbell between them. Likewise AAMI Park has his advantages as we get to share some IP with other sporting codes. There is nothing terrible about our facilities set up at the moment. We won a flag with these facilities, so it's certainly not hindered our success. The reality is that players live far and wide. For some Casey is convenient (certainly it's quicker to get to from the Peninsula than getting into the city), for others it is not. Such is life. Very few people live 10 minutes away from their job.
  12. Been there more often than Collingwood!
  13. I’m planning on being in Perth over Easter. Wondering how hard it would be to get two tickets to our game against West Coast? I have two 17 game membership I can use. Would I be any chance for anyone who’s done that before?
  14. It’s a much better fixture than last year but FFS Geelong in Geelong. How do we agree to this BS every year????
  15. At this rate the AFL will release the full fixture on Christmas Day. Can't let Santa have all the attention!
  16. Best of luck to him. They have a lot of classy mids so perhaps he will reinvent his role.
  17. I wonder where Oliver is. Hopefully he is fit.
  18. Ruckman are always a risk. Rarely do they go early in the draft (Jackson and NicNat are exceptions), and you can get a good one at pick 30, or pick 103. Nobody at 18 at 200cm and 9kgs soaking wet is going to show much more than some baby giraffe like athleticism. You gotta keep taking punts on these guys and see how they turn out. Low risk but high reward type stuff. We have had decades of being blessed with really phenomenal ruckman from Stynes all the way to Gawn and now Grundy. That doesn't mean we have to have another one in the ranks, as many teams have won flags with ordinary ruckman. It's just about how you play it.
  19. The haircuts on these kids are truly mortifying. What’s happened to humanity?
