  1. As captain no less… or is that role reserved for Selwood?
  2. He had high impact, but he didn't impact often enough. Still achieved more than the Watts, so credit to him.
  3. I thought it was funny. I didn’t mean to offend.
  4. The thing is, Carlton won that game with their pressure. Those 3 players don’t bring that same pressure. McKay comes in at the expense of a small and is not great at ground level. Cerra and Walsh win a lot of the ball but they don’t play a high pressure negative midfield role. They probably replace someone like Dow or Cunningham who had 27 and 31 pressure acts respectively. Cerra and Walsh only average 20 pressure acts per game as an example. McKay is hovering around 9 pressure acts per game, which is average for a key forward, but IMO he makes their forwardline less potent. Of course they are great players who win clearances and kick goals, so undoubtedly they make Carlton better. It’s whether or not they help Carlton maintain the manic pressure that’s won them games that I question.
  5. You can have your opinion. You can’t be disrespectful, rude or racist in expressing your opinion If you find this place too sensitive you can log off.
  6. A billion dollar organization that wastes so much money on absolute nonsense, can’t find a few bucks to invest in better cameras? Give me a break, the AFL is an amateur organization. They don’t want full time umpires and they don’t want to better their technology to help assist umpires. Sort it out before Collingwood lose a final to ****ty ARC vision and all hell breaks loose 🙄
  7. Mate you’ve been posting here for 2 minutes. Don’t tell people how they should feel. You have absolutely no idea what people are going through behind the screen. How about you don’t behave like an arseclown and then nobody will have to be impacted by your behavior?!
  8. The most finals like game we’ve played in since an actual final. It was next level in terms of pressure. Where we lost the game was the first quarter where we really had not prepared for Carlton’s pressure. We absorbed it poorly and combined with a wet ground and ball we just butchered our ball use. Comical errors and panicked kicks. Thank god our defense is so good at absorbing repeat entries. We also lost the game in the first 10 minutes of the last where we came out napping. Trac twice let Cripps walk out the front of the clearance, and twice it ended in a goal. It was a mistake to not let Clarry start in the middle in the beginning of the last quarter. Nor let Kosi through there to start the quarter. In a final you have to be switched on every minute of the game. We weren’t. When we switched on we were the better side IMO. We scored with more ease, we moved it better and we won the clearances and the contested possessions. We just needed to play at that level for longer. And to have one actual reliable forward in the mix. Fritta plays and I reckon we win.
  9. In July you said Pies Port and Brisbane are street ahead of us. Since then we beat Pies and Brisbane. Port lost 4 on the trot. Brisbane and Pies lost two in a row, including to bottom 4 sides. You have absolutely no trust in the side, and that’s fine. But please don’t pretend like you weren’t telling us all what a genius Fly is and what a boring uninspired and stubborn coach Goodwin is.
  10. Because if they did I’m sure Max would get more frees, at least for a short while. Plenty of clubs have gone in for a whinge and received better treatment from the umpires.
  11. Agreed. Will replace JJ Any thoughts on Grundy? I would drop him and play Smith forward. Hibbo into the 22.
  12. Good to hear you’ll stick around. I can be quite negative but I’ve been trying to find the positives more often because I’m reminded regularly how bad we used to be and how I longed for the days when we were a contender!
  13. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and by providing it you need to expect that you may get pushback or feedback or disagreement. So long as it’s done respectfully, there is nothing wrong with that. This is after all, a discussion forum, and in every discussion and conversation there are sides. And people are also entitled to change their mind, have a (respectful) meltdown because they’re sad their team lost, and have a sook when things aren’t going the way they hoped. Some days are better on here than others. I hope you stick around as you’re a really good poster. But you have to do what feels right. We don’t bring toxicity to our lives. We are peaceful kings and queens!
  14. Don’t worry about it. Jimmy already told me the Pies have won the flag. Why are we even talking footy when we can talk draft picks?
  15. @binman I need a 7000 word essay to tell people why they need to calm down please @Binmans PA if I don’t hear from him soon, expect a follow up email from my team
  16. A lot of people with wet pants in this thread. When we were 42 points down in round 23 in 2021 in Geelong I turned the TV off and told my husband it’s been a great year but I’m off to bed. Nek minnit
  17. Our club never says a word. Never complains. Never mentions it. Pert should send a please explain to the umpires department with hours of vision of Gawn getting held, hit high and hit late for no frees.
  18. He did. I told him to F off because he’s a tiny assclown and no, I will not be fit. Ever.
  19. I didn’t see the vision but if it was the one in Prahran it’s possible he parked down the side street. I’ve been there many times for scans myself and one side of the street looks like a weird alleyway.
  20. Mid strength wine makes no sense to me. I never drink wine to get drunk. I drink it because it’s delicious. And because it’s delicious I get drunk 😂
  21. Nothing is ever as good or as bad as it seems in football.
  22. To be fair all AFL players in Melbourne go to the same place to get scanned. I assume the gutter journalists just sit there all day every day waiting to catch someone.
  23. Gawn had scans today apparently No idea for what. Anyone??
  24. And with Moore maybe touch and go.
  25. What a difference a week makes. Things going against us at every turn this week.
