Sounds to me like Petty and his manager got thrown an opportunity and took it as a chance to bring stuff to the table with Melbourne. We might need to pander to him a little to try and convince him to stay longer term.

This is why there’s no point haggling and holding clubs to ransom and crying over every small trade. If we pissfart around on the Grundy trade how many other trades would we have struggled to complete? Every year we move deals quickly and end up completing more deals than just about any other club. Geelong made no trades because all week they fought Port only to end up with two picks they’ll never use anyway. No logic.
