Footy seems real again now that Saty's back. -
THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS

My prediction: Not guilty. That is, CAS will not be comfortably satisfied with respect to the players. But CAS will make as strong a statement as they possibly can to criticise the actions of the Essendon coaching and support staff (including Dank). -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BILLY STRETCH
La Dee-vina Comedia replied to e25's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think you're being unfair. Italian Stallion just misheard something and then sought more information about what he thought he'd heard. The worst post of the year will be an ill-informed opinion. I'm sure we'll have plenty of those during the year ahead. -

Get better soon, Sniffling Jack. And thanks for keeping your germs away from our players. -
Demonland optimism: Great result by Nathan Jones. Demonland pessimism: What's wrong with Tommy Bugg?

Greats of the game tearing us up...

Could have been worse. Could have been his father. -
Christian Petracca's toe injury (in full training)
La Dee-vina Comedia replied to DeeSpencer's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just seeing that in writing reinforces what an impressive performance that has been. It shows physical resilience, mental toughness and consistency of form. And there's nothing to say that Petracca won't play 201 out of a possible 206 once he debuts, either. -

I seem to recall Jade Rawlings doing it to us once or twice when he wore brown and gold. -
As a matter of interest, now that Bail and Nicholson are no longer with us, who are considered to be the top endurance runners expected to compete with Tom McDonald for fastest times?

is there anything in the ASADA code which stops us from taking Weideman's hands and putting them on Chris Dawes' arms? -

He also said: If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack. Winston Churchill Which seems to have been the strategy of everyone involved in this whole saga...the club, the club's former coach, the AFL, ASADA, the media and just about everyone on Demonland. -
Not sure what this first-hand evidence is doing in an otherwise speculative thread.

THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS

My level of concern about Goodwin is limited to the fact that he kept calling Dank "buddy" and "mate". However, I am grateful he didn't call him "pal". That would be going too far. -
If the AFL monitors this thread we've just given them the excuse they need to justify a night Grand Final. Holding it after sunset will allow AFL club Presidents who are rabbis to attend.

Replace "vitamins" with "a joke" and delete the word "tribunal" and it looks frighteningly familiar. -

How about "Dank stank (and we didn't tank)" -
Can anyone explain why boxing appears to be an integral part of football training? Is it (a) reflexes, (b) coping with fear, (c) bicep development, (d) coping with pain (when hit), (e) all of the above, (f) something else altogether? Frankly, I can't see what it offers...but obviously it must have some value.

A little off the main thrust of the topic, but I'm sure Matthews not only received as much as he gave, but knew to expect it, too. Which means he wasn't a coward at all. He knew he'd be on the receiving end of retribution and went ahead with the tough stuff anyway. Unrelated to the above, he's the best player I've ever seen, but not the most enjoyable to watch. That honour goes to Robert Flower.

THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS

Absolutely I have. All the time when I signed consent for my children to have emergency medical attention on school camp, for example. And one that hasn't been used yet but I hope it will, but only when I'm done ...organ donation. -
THE SAGA CONTINUES - WADA APPEALS
La Dee-vina Comedia replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree. What might be worse is if they were told they were only being injected with x and y, which were legal and which they consented to and then were also injected unwittingly with z, which was on the banned list, and which they did not consent to. -
And the winners are: For maintaining the Rage: Beelzebub for Essendon-WADA thread. Honorary mention to Sir Why You Little for letting us know his views about Tom Scully whenever the chance arises. For eternal optimism disguised as pessimism: Old Dee For describing the: Joeboy For providing Demonland fashion advice without ever actually providing any fashion advice: Jaded For encouraging the mancrush within us all: 6six6 (or whatever your name is now) for those fantastic photos And a serious one: To Andy, WJ, Nasher and all the mods - thanks for giving us somewhere to chat amongst friends about our fantastic, yet exasperating football club.

I have no idea why they didn't mention it. But signing a consent form only tells us that they accepted they would take Thymosin if it were to be provided, not that they actually were injected with it. -
It's true. Christmas really is the season for gif-ing.

Isn't that the central point of the players' argument? That they didn't take "z"? I'd hardly expect the players to say they took "z" if they honestly believe they did not. If they know they took "z" and haven't fessed up, that's a very different proposition. -
So, we turn a Jeremy Howe thread into a Tom Scully thread into a Jack Watts thread. We might not break the internet, but we could break Demonland.
