I haven't read the Walls article, but if he suggested that having the best starting four ever is the key to winning, then he belongs in another era (or at Richmond). Clubs need a multitude of on-ballers and the ability to mix them up so the "starting four" might not even be the best four.

I was agreeing with everything here until you used an expression I've never heard before...but I like it. I think "what set the cream from the crop" should get used more often. And it can mean whatever the writer wants it to mean.
