  1. I don't see how it matters. I'd love us to have 200,000 members, 175,000 of whom never attend games. It's much better to have non-attending members than non-attending supporters.
  2. I know it's still called the "Amateurs" but are players allowed to be paid (and I mean officially, not under-the-counter payments)? I thought I had read somewhere that it's now "amateur" in name but the rules banning payments have been modified somewhat.
  3. Don't take this the wrong way Jrono64, I loved your work. But my favourite bit was the story about your daughter and her newly signed hat.
  4. One other matter to consider is that if each of Melbourne and GWS has one of these players injured and unable to play, we still have one on the ground and GWS does not. That's not a reason in itself to do the deal, but it shouldn't be ignored as one of the benefits.
  5. Great report Goodvibes. Doesn't seem that long ago that we couldn't find any "senior leaders". To me, this is one of the most significant changes in the last few years.
  6. Probably his last chance, too, given his age and the younger players developing in the queue behind him.
  7. I know it would only be hearsay, but hasn't someone previously posted that Robert Shaw thought Hunt was the best of the Brighton Grammar School bunch of that year?
  8. I'm not sure it proves anything. Isn't he just doing what his employer asks him to do?
  9. "the shoulder bone's connected to the stomach bone..."
  10. I thought Pax Demonica was a legal settlement between Bill Clinton and "that woman, Miss Lewinsky"
  11. I must admit, I had interpreted the 10kg loss as being deliberate rather than a consequence of the surgery. Either way, 10kg is a lot to lose.
  12. Big call. I realise what constitutes a "Parish type" is both arguable and subjective, but I would have thought Akermanis and Shaun Burgoyne might be "Parish types" ...and quite good in finals.
  13. I don't understand how Pedersen could drop 10 kilos. Does that mean he was not fully fit previously? Which then raises the question of why? Conversely, if he was fit, why was he physically developed to be 10 kgs heavier?
  14. It wasn't until the mods deleted the post it was obviously referencing.
  15. For example, "The coach has the Board's full support" and "It was just a love-tap"
  16. Is there any chance of a third theme to go with the "Default" and "Safe for Work" options? I need a "Safe for Home" option. Could we replace the word "Demonland" in the top left corner with something more innocuous like "Home Improvement Options" or "Study Plans"?
  17. It's even more complex when he's on second ruck duties. Then he has to tap it down to himself before he can even deliver the ball to himself.
  18. I haven't read the Walls article, but if he suggested that having the best starting four ever is the key to winning, then he belongs in another era (or at Richmond). Clubs need a multitude of on-ballers and the ability to mix them up so the "starting four" might not even be the best four.
  19. Did we trade in Trent Cotchin and I somehow missed the news?
  20. Spencer may not just be back up for Gawn. Injuries to Hogan and/or Watts may also see Spencer selected.
  21. Disagree. I think he can. (Some typos are more entertaining than others.)
  22. Just a couple of minor edits and there's a whole story here about someone taking on that other team, the Pharaohs. Add in the blue waters of the Red Sea, and you've got a replacement for Moses leading the Jews MFC to a Premiership near the River Jordan. Just hope we're not heading for another 40 years in the wilderness.
  23. I was agreeing with everything here until you used an expression I've never heard before...but I like it. I think "what set the cream from the crop" should get used more often. And it can mean whatever the writer wants it to mean.
