WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MICHAEL HIBBERD
Or maybe Mahoney/Taylor/TViney are trying to not give up a pick easily and trying to get the best deal done for the club

Name calling is your specialty "precious". And where did I use the term 'hate'? Straw man arguement as usual. Look, if your opinion is that we give EFC what they want in order to get the deal done quickly, so be it. It may be the only deal we do this trading period. The rest of us are prepared to tough it out and see what the club can do.

Honestly, why do you post on this forum? You obviously hold Demonlanders in contempt.

It's called 'getting the best deal for the club'. Not everyone is happy to cave in to opposition demands quickly. It may be the only deal we do in trade week. Fortunately Mahoney, TViney and Taylor are doing what is best for the club. It may be this year's second rounder, maybe not, but explore all options first. He wants out to us, it's in our favour ATM.

Do your research before posting Saty. The same player has said he's happy to stay at the bombers if the trade doesn't work out. The player will survive either way. It's the nature of the business. It's not about burning, it's about doing what's best for the club. Do you actually want that to happen or are you simply happy for us to give in to what Essendon wants because you've taken that stance?

No. We take the option which best works for us. That's what all clubs do. It's the nature of the business.

Spot on. Essendon have a player that wants out. We want him but have the pick in our keep and could otherwise use it well, especially given we don't have a first rounder. We might give it up..... or not. Who blinks first?

Absolutely. Offer them what we want to give them and see what happens. Lol, now Saty is Melbourne's trade negotiating 'expert'!

With all due respect, I'm not sure it would amount to much more than a 4th rounder at best

I think you should change your name to TSIMISSEP

Dunno about that. There's a high % of AFL footy fans that are women, many more than other male dominated sports, more so than cricket or soccer. I know of many footy mad mum's that have determined their kid's preferences. Likewise most draftees want to be in the same state, the same city as their family. That would be the true 'overwhelming' factor. Whilst Jeff might have a soft spot for the Dees and say he'd like his kid there, the reality of family unity might not lure the kid far from home. But here's hoping he's a gun and chooses the Dees, hey...

Classy exit by Jamie Bennett. Good on him. Some other recent delistees could learn a lot from him.
