Not sure about rivers in the guts, but he is a way better prospect than harmes that's for sure, as for Goody I think he believes we could do what the triggers did play the same way over those years but they had better players in the main positions, change the game plan, one can only hope.

Christ another media beat up and people fall for it, he will play when he is right to go, the club won't risk it for long term gain end of conversion.

You are spot on your thoughts, but with selection ANB, Harmes should be out but Goody is just predictable in his selection same old players go out and the same in, Thommo and Turner should be looked at.

People are missing the point, having McVee or Bowey forward is not going to help, it's the game-plan going into the forward line, it's that simple, they never change angles, all fly for the same mark etc poor JVR is a kid but gets no protection from other forwards against opposition players, BBB is a lead up forward but hey lets not try that lets all stay together, if anything try McVee into the midfield he has a footy brain but do something.
  5. Yes that is true and could understand it if we had a Curnow, McKay etc but we did the same thing last year and even Goody admitted towards the end of the season it was a problem but here we are saying the same thing again, as I have said before BBB mainly got all his goals at north on the lead and here we are still doing the same thing, if you watch the game again a classic It was in the 1st or 3rd quarter a melbourne was running along the corridor all by himself just jogging he did not call for it or did the player with the pill even looked sideways they are robots, we have one paced players in ANB, Harmes, Viney and Trac, Oliver has a bit of speed in him, ANB has a negative role, Harmes well don't get me started, maybe try McVee in the guts bring in Disco but just do something instead of doing the same thing over and over.
  6. It's simple, we are still trying to play 21 football, we are unable to change angles moving into the forward line it's still kick down the line stuff, BBB was recruited as a leading forward and we expect him to be a pack mark player it's just dumb stuff, all forwards flying for the same mark, no system at all even Goody always say oh we have to have better connection with the forward line but still do the same stuff, as I have said fix the forward line entries and things will turn around.
  7. What picture is that, we all see the problem except Goodwin and co 21 football in 22 and 23 forward line is dysfunctional they even talk about it but do the same thing the week after, if we fix that up we are in with a chance but it's not looking good with how we deliver.
  8. But we are the highest scoring team in the comp........lmfao
  9. No, not because you disagree it's a fact Flower pound for pound was one of the best players going around, could include Wells, Alves and co....
  10. Then you ain't seen the best then to compare then.
  11. Rush that is not even the word for it, and you are right that will keep him from being up their with flower, the same goes for Oliver.
  12. And unfortunately he did not need to be in that pack at that time, all the forwards flew for the same pill
  13. It's called coaching, plan A plan A and plan A when all else fails go to plan A.
  14. Yet someone was saying McVee was bad, I agree with you, might be worth a crack in the centre, has a football brain.
  15. Because he is not a midfielder and never will be...
  16. Langdon reminds me of a certain side that said we played bruise free football, that's him. Smith did alright with how we bring the ball in. Harmes just shake head has no natural football brain. ANB I think his main job is to get tackled to cause a ball up, time to go.
  17. Looks like the sexyland blow up statues at training have gone down, now everyone runs in an arc again, come on folks blow them back up so to speak......
  18. Let me guess we are the highest scoring side ....nup, the umpires.....nup, we are loading ......nup cannot wait for this explanation
  19. demon3165 replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
And that's why harmes should never be in that side...

At the moment you are losing that then....
  21. And how many games are we behind them? You can stick with stat's, I prefer to judge on what I see.
  22. Easily explained over to you Simon https://www.sen.com.au/news/2023/06/28/the-area-of-melbournes-game-that-will-haunt-them-in-september/
  23. Why 21 is the starting point to look at, 22 bundled out straight sets, playing the same way in 23 how else are you meant to compare season on season to see where they have improved or gone backwards.

It is a damm hare job to do but in the context of 120 minutes of football players make way more mistakes than umpires in a game, the holding the ball rule is damm hard and yes I still wonder how a player with the ball has 3 players tackling him gets called holding the ball or incorrect disposal but that's the AFL problem to work it out, maybe play the 3rd man in rule, I know that's radical and still has it's problems in interpretation but it would be easier and have less packs, but in the end how many of us would be willing to do that job, nothing like being hated to 120 whatever they do. Also maybe 25 metres for short kicks instead of 15 to be paid?
  25. Because maybe that's the problem then......
