  1. You have seen how the ball enters the forward line, Tony Lockett would struggle to get a kick.
  2. And that is different to any other time?
  3. Click under teams and there it is.....
  4. If my memory serves me correct the finals games we were in front at half time? but after that watch how the opposition changed their setup and how they went about it, and we are doing the same thing now, I am not so concerned about the backline, as I am with the forward line if we had a pack mark type of player, things would be better placed but we don't, we cannot keep bombing it in, sides are setting up for it, few up but many front and back ready to switch the pill just as the lions, bombers and to an extent port. It's not the wanting to be a front runner it's whether we have the game plan to win it, I cannot see it yet, maybe that changes between now and then and I hope so, but I was not wrong last year on what I saw and I am seeing similar things this year.
  5. Tear us apart? have we taken on Ports song in the forum now? and no it won't do that at the end of the day we are all Melbourne supporters with different views and that's ok debate is good.
  6. My observations come from watching virtually watching all the games and form an opinion it's not hard to do, the dogs and swans are not the strong sides they were, remember the swans got done by 93 points against the cats round 6, the dogs they are etching out wins but they are gettable, yes we did play well not disputing that, so tell me what happened in 2022 then, to go from the top of the tree to out of the finals so easy, where have we improved from 2021? Have we improved this year compared to 2021 tell me. As for the pies, they have only dropped one game but they can be beaten the lions showed after half time with some cleaver tactics regarding the Daicos boys, if you watch their game plan it's very simple but effective, but you have to be disciplined. Sydney is good in Sydney, but I still believe that if the pies played the cats in the grand final they would have won it, the swans played their grand final the week before, but we will never know that.
  7. Well i'm not thee one who brought it up, i am going to defend myself as for getting along we all come from different ideas and views, but if we did then we would just classed as robots with no thoughts how boring.
  8. ahh selective quoting good on you, and what did I say about rugby? oh that's right Viney and what did I also say about him?
  9. Tigers did 19, 20 as for the demons if the pies did not go the punch we would have won 6 on the trot, Hawks 13,14,15.
  10. Yes they are just ask the hawks, tigers and the lions...
  11. The pies ended up with the foot off the petal don't be fooled by the end result they did what they had to do, the dogs took several rounds to get going but they are not the same side full stop, and swans well look where they are on the ladder, the tigers well they are sitting 15th. "Sure, the Brisbane game could have ended very differently if the lights didn't go out, but of course we won't know for sure". you are kidding, they had their hands around our throats, again the game is about beating top sides and unless we clean up a dysfunctional forward line and that's my opinion by watching games we will make the eight, but then it will harder by the game in the finals.
  12. And I bet you thought we would win back to back premierships, I posted that we would not after round 9 - 10 last year, and that was based on how we played, and I will say this if we keep playing this way and don't change we won't win this year, so you can stick with stats I will back my eyes and knowledge of the game, but you are entitled to your opinion, even if you live in a fictional world......
  13. Now that you have got that off your chest, tell us what you really think....
  14. Maybe the AFL can bring in a hair length rule, so they then know if it's a dangerous sling tackle.......
  15. Gee what is this thread called ahh Game plans, tactics and all that jazz and that's what has been spoken about, yes it has been highjacked by people who don't like whats been said and then they have a crack at people for it, the answer is simple don't reply it's not that hard.
  16. Because we played duds, stop looking at stats and look at the game there was the hawks game this year we nearly 20 entries in the first quarter and 66 for the match but could only kick 7 goals after half time to 6 goals so tell me is that ok?. You can believe all you want in stats I don't, it's like doing a poll you answer the questions based on what you are asked, for coaches, it's we only lost the contested possessions by 6 so thats ok even though you lost by 50 points.
  17. The dogs struggled for the first group of games and are not the same side , swans are up and down, and the lions game if the lights had not gone out we were heading for a ten goal loss, the tigers are not the same feared side they were once were, so stats can be misleading.
  18. Well he has done that for quite a while, before most of them, alright, how about a stool so he can see the forward line entries from a lot higher........
  19. That's a bit like reading your uncles will, getting nothing but saying i was his favourite, that's what i think of stats maybe he should coach from the coaches box might get a better view of it.
  20. And I was answering a question about Langdon involving the thread, try reading, if you don't like it, don't reply it's that simple!!
  21. Spot on, all he does now is play boundary side he has become lazy, plenty of running but just around the boundary, you watch Sidebottom he's the link man, Landon did that in 21 but has stopped doing that as I have said before not impressed with Yze as a midfield coach he is not reactive when things are not working.
  22. Yes they are [censored], clearance, inside fifty, contested possessions, disposals etc
  23. Stats are a load of [censored], I will stick with the john Kennedy 3 rules: You have the ball. The opposition have the ball. The ball is in dispute, means the umpires have it. The game is relatively simple, coaches made changes when they were getting beaten in certain areas, now they wait till the breaks, Yze has not impressed me as a midfield coach, and don’t get started on Stafford, but Goody has the total control.
  24. Ok then tell me what has changed from 2021 to now, seeing we got bundled out last year easily, tell us what will have to change for us to improve and make the top 4, let us know how we went from 10 -0 to struggle for the rest of the year last year interested in your opinion?
