At Least I Saw a Flag

I'm not sure that we can keep playing both Langers & Hunter on the wings. Gus is a great winger (and HB, and midfielder!!) so we mightn't be able to play him on a wing. One of the young fellas might well get a crack on a wing ... I'm very worried about Petty. Those foot injuries are diabolical. JVR is really good. Very confident about his continued progression. Clarry ... hmm. Who knows? Sparrow ... needs to go to the next level. Hopefully he does. And Chandler. And Kozzy needs to improve his consistency. I'm a real advocate of giving him short bursts on the ball to get him into the game. TMac & BBB are cooked. Sadly. I worry about Max. He's not getting any younger, and is repeatedly assaulted. Maysie ... great player, but on the wrong side of 30. Hopefully his inevitable slide is very gradual. Not sure it's exactly on topic, but I really hate the filth. As for Maynard ....

Having an A+ ruckman is an obvious asset. But, as has been said many times before, the Toiges won 3 flags with Nankervis as their ruckman. And for those with long memories, so did Brisbane years ago with Keating*. And another flag with another ruckman whose name I can't remember! *Aaron, not Paul.

I live NE of the city, but I'm fine with a Caulfield training/social facility. The proposal of a training oval at Yarra Park would be way more convenient for me, but apparently there is little prospect of that happening. I'm sure that will have a significant impact on the Club's planning.

My (late) parents were migrants. They had less than zero interest or knowledge of AFL (VFL at that time). As a little tacker, I apparently had a beanie that had red + blue colours on it. (It wasn't specifically a Demons beanie.) I was asked from time to time whether I barracked for Melbourne. My simplest option was to say yes. I guess that was in 1966, but the first GF I can remember was 1968. Prior to 2021, it was pretty slim pickings. My 3 children all barrack for Melbourne, with relative (but reasonable) degrees of enthusiasm. My firstborn married a Carlton supporter. I didn't put pressure on my daughter to ensure that their daughter (my granddaughter) barracks for MFC. So she will no doubt barrack for Carlton. In all likelihood, her father will take her to many more matches than I'm likely to; for various reasons ... decrepitude and/or death.

It would be helpful if would grow another 10 cm.
