  1. Viney talked about role-playing being at the heart of the 2021 Dees gameplan, giving specific praise to Brayshaw. TMac was being manned by Harris Andrews, who is the Jake Lever of the Lions, and he had zero impact. I'm not sure Andrews took 1 intercept mark. He didn't come across once in front of B Brown, Fritsch etc... So as far as role playing goes, that is a win. I admit, TMac is looking a bit like a spoon pouring treacle and might lose his spot if we meet GWS. But for me, we have settled on a Brown /TMac / Jackson rotation of tall forwards and we won a final. Can't see it needing to be changed.
  2. Not yet, no. Win the Grand Final - yes.
  3. 6. Gawn 5. Oliver 4. Neal Bullen 3. Brayshaw 2. Petracca 1. Langdon Many others could have received votes
  4. Loved Sparrow's game. Can see him becoming something quite special, which I wouldn't have said 10 weeks ago.
  5. Rivers recovered well. Bowey got better and better. Langdon and Brayshaw were HUGE. TMac was unsighted, but so was Harris Andrews. That is a win.
  6. Lions came at us hard and quick. Once again, we reset, our big players stood up and we win. PRELIMINARY FINAL BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. After all that, we are still 19 points up. Reset boys.
  8. Langdon has been brilliant.
  9. Brilliant Joel Smith - very well done.
  10. Just figured out what Tmac's job is - to keep Harris Andrews out of intercepting. And doing it very well too.
  11. If not for some atrocious goal kicking, that was great to watch. Well on top. Great footy to watch.
  12. Missing gettable goals - just stop it!
  13. Come on boys, pedal to the floor now.
  14. Langdon and Brayshaw doing a bundle of hard work.
  15. We are in front, showing up the Lions defence. Getting beaten around the stoppages, and groundball in defensive 50 is a huge worry so far. Great to see Bowey step in for last 5 mins at ground level. Cover Cameron, we win.
  16. Rivers having a shocker. Three handballs have gone to opposition, and led to shots on goal.
  17. Backline starting to settle. Need Oliver to fire up.
  18. Joel Smith on Cameron looking good... NOT.
  19. Now THAT is a footy final. Great game. Had everything.
  20. I'd take Isaac Heeney
  21. I know Toby Greene should not have warded off with a high hand, but gee I hate how soft that Swans player went down.
  22. My great grandfather Jack Morgans was an MCC member, and secretary of the MCC bowling club. When the old member's stand was still in place, I went through the history archives once and found info about him. He also played footy and cricket at Norwood, winning the cricket batting average trophy for 1895/1896. I was brought up with one eye on Norwood and how they hated Port Adelaide as much as we hate the Filth. The Norwood / Melbourne connection is very strong going back many generations, but it doesn't feel as strong as it used to be.
  23. Morning footy news check - done. A few comments while reading through Demonland - check. 2 hours of meditative relaxing via mowing, weeding, sweeping - check. Cheese platter purchased for tonight's game - check (yep, we decided to do it to shove it right up all the "to-the-snow-in-September" trolls) My dearly departed dad was a mad Swannies man, so I sit down to watch them take on gws - AND IT DOESN'T START UNTIL 3.30PM!! I hate all the pre-game drivel. So with coffee in hand, Demonland up and active, I now have to listen to Cameron Ling for an hour! At least Daisy is good to listen to.
  24. Our defence will stifle their forwards: I reckon they will struggle to kick double figure goals. It might be a 50/50 split through the midfield. One player having a blinder might be the difference (Trac, Zorko etc...) Our forwards as a unit on paper actually don't look frightening, but it is very difficult to cover the vast variety. I reckon they have no-one who can run with and cover Luke Jackson. Final score something like Dees 10 14 74 Lions 8 8 56 Stuff me, I need a whisky already!
  25. Fantasia is good but not that good. The 2nd effort by the Cats players once the ball hit the ground was woeful.
