Huge experience and size difference between West Coast and Port, but West Coast having a red hot crack. They are going to get badly beaten but not by lack of effort or method.
  2. I was working today and could only glance at the scores. Looking forward to the replay. Great win, and very pleasing to note we didn't allow 3 junk time goals to win by a meagre 10 points. We put our foot on their throats and ground them into the ground. THIS is the Dees of late 2021. And I will continue to believe that we are a better team with BBB in it, with 2 qualifications: If he is able to do 2nd efforts, he stays in the team, if not, his time is over. He needs to provide 1-2 goals a game, and keep contesting in the air. It sounds really promising about Hore, Windsor & Billings. I am very surprised about Billings, but happy to be wrong.

Considering the Dees forward line limitations and how we lack cohesion and a strong target, if you want to see a forward line train wreck, have a look at Adelaide tonight!

The Gold Coast v Crows game is a shocker - no entertainment value at all. So I switch over to the Cats v Saints and it is just as bad.

Sydney, GWS & Carlton do look go, but no-one is premiers in March. A lot of good teams haven't hit their stride yet. The question for the Pies is, can they find their A game again, while Pendlebury and Sidebottom are shadows of their brilliant best, Cox is NOT a footballer, and their forward line looks mediocre?

Gulden's kicking really is a thing of beauty. Pendlebury - 1 season too long. Sydney - very good TEAM football. Contributors everywhere, running to help each other. Mason Cox - wow that has been a terrible game of footy.

I loathe Carlton. And the gushing love from the commentators is making me puke.

Tiges defensive method looks very much like the Dees. Allow the ball to get through the wings, but bottle it up completely 30m - 60m out from goal. They are lacking some talent on many lines but their system looks tight.

The Tiges need to play body-to-body more, and to nominate an backline interceptor like Lever. McKay and Curnow are being given a run and jump at too many balls. Blues getting murdered at ground level. Taranto, Green and Dusty tearing them to pieces.

  11. Pies conceding 114 points. That is rare for a team considered a genuine contender.
  12. I used to attend Dees v GWS at the MCG to boo Tom Scully. I hated GWS. It feels strange to admit how much I like watching them play now Kingsley is coaching them.
  13. Any chance of getting Hogan back? What a gun when he is in his right mind.
  14. I just said the same thing. Richmond are looking like WCE in 2022. I am not a Hardwick fan, but I really like a lot of the Gold Coast players. I would take Rowell and King, and there is something about Holman that is ugly, tough and effective.
  15. That was a really good game of footy, and as much as I hate to say it, a great win from the Blues. Dees take note - foot skills create wins.
  16. Brisbane's forward spread is brilliant, and their kicking skills - wow. But the Blues defensive spread is non existent. This is turning out to be an enjoyable night - seeing the Blues struggle.
  17. 6. Viney 5. Salem 4. May 3. Fritsch 2. Tomlinson 1. McVee
  18. My wife had the computer all night, this is my first opportunity for input. Glad, to be honest. I may have chucked the laptop through the new smart tv. So: few positional winners annihilated around the stoppages and ball drop our small forwards were as poor as they have ever been horrendous field kicking and a whole lot of poor, poor football. Some of our great players were less than average. Our brilliant back 6 were soundly beaten by their own errors, decision making & field kicking Laurie, Schache & Billings looked sub par. Billings not the answer. I know it was greasy & slippery, but our ball handling looked like Tallygaroopna v Manangatang reserves in mid winter.
  19. System & personnel looking good. Salem and Sparrow as mids is very, very pleasing. Bring on Caleb Windsor. Fritsch very rusty.
  20. And THAT is why we want Salem kicking inside 50.
  21. Due to it being a preseason/practice match, the lack of full-on pressure and risk taking measn you can't really measure a lot of things. However, our low kicking inside F50 is a massive change up, as is the variety of people being run through the midfield. Kozzie, Rivers, Sparrow, Bowey all had stints last year but have spent longer there in this game. And Salem in the middle is a huge win.
  22. Carlton 4 0 24 Dees 8 3 51
  23. Some rusty skills and goal kicking aside, our system and personnel looking ok. Get May, Gawn, Trac, and Salem off and give the young boys a run.
  24. Not sure, but I think he dipped his left foot in grease prior to the game. His kicking!!!
  25. I want Windsor on the wing round 1. We have a lot of in-and-under players, and he offers a lot more than Hunter out wide.
