WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM
Posters on here seriously make me laugh - he has not even kicked a football for us - it could turn out to be the most brilliant trade of all time or a complete dud - how would we know. Vince was an inspired choice and posters were unhappy with that one too. How about we all take a chill pill and wait for 2 weeks into the season proper and then go on a savage rampage in the vein of " why did we take Toumpas over Wines (substitute Melksham and whoever else we missed out on)

This is just so speculative - people were happy with swapping Clark for Lumumba - both to my thinking have been a bust. (some were happy with the original Clark get and some werent) Some were unhappy in what we gave up for Vince and that looks like a steal now. This is absolutely "time will tell". I won't shed a tear ( of sadness or joy) until I see him play for us and watch what we produces.

Saw Dave Graney and the coral snakes Saturday night - he did the "night of the wolverine" from start to finish. He was sensational and I am now proudly wearing a chocolate brown one peice jumpsuit.

He was resplendent in orange - and many of us in the audience also wore orange in support. On another note - Do you know of Steven Poltz ?

Ross Hannaford is quite ill and there were two benefit concerts last weekend at the Memo music hall in Melbourne - the who's who came out to play to help defray his medical bills. Hosted by Brian Nankervis - Paul Kelly, Black Sorrows, Linda Bull, Wilbur Wilde, Phil Rudd, the rest of the Daddy Cool but to name a few. Ross Hannaford opened the show and looked very frail but there was a wonderful outpouring of emotion for him. The highlight was probably Joe Camilleri - gee he gives when he performs. Disappointment - Ross Wilson - really acted like he didnt want to be there. ( at the table next to me were half of Sherbert - I managed to keep myself from throwing my panties at them)

Demon Cheersquad, Late 80's
I was in the cheer squad in the 70's - I had no 11 - Greg Wells on the back of my duffle coat. Can someone please tell me - who was the other person in the cheer squad ?

Delistings/trades at end of the season
why would you be shot down ? The odds aren't with him but the good news is that the decision on him doesn't need to be made for at least 6 months.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
I agree that odds aren't with him but talent is talent and Trengove's best form would put him above the four players ( based on their best form to date) I have mentioned.

Delistings/trades at end of the season
You can only compare his best form to the best form of players in the current team. So he would replace Bail, Matt Jones, Newton and Riley. The $1M question is whether Trengove will ever play 120 minutes of football let alone return to his best. Trengove returning to his first two years form would be massive but what are the chances of that ?

I get the buddy deal - again...exposed form. Whether we like Buddy or not we have to agree that on his day ( and he has quite a few of them) he is a game winner. Boyd has no exposed form to justify the tag. I was gobsmacked at the price GWS paid for Scully but even he had shown during his two seasons with us he could run all day. Did not think he was ever worth the money paid but at least you had some idea of what you were getting. The Boyd play is the riskiest investment in AFL history that I can recall.

The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan
I think about the Boyd contract and shake my head. To me it is all about exposed form. To offer the millions they have given to Boyd - you want to see something in his first season to suggest that he will be a major player of the future - and i have yet to see it. That is not to say he wont make it but I would have wanted to see snippets in his first season to justify that sort of contract. Joe Daniher in his first season is far away from being a complete player but you can see the glimpses to suggest that he will be very good. Would you offer Hogan huge money ? In a heartbeat - his Casey season and what we have seen in his first few matches strongly suggest that the only stopping him being a "great" is injury.

I'm an unabashed Linkin Park fan so I like anything that Chester does. If anyone gets a chance in the future ( as the tour just finished) - Courtney Barnett is great live - she absolutely rocked the forum.
