  1. Someone earlier in the week reminded Demonland that in 2004/2005 Carlton were the ones we kept losing to stupidly which cost us top 4. It wasn’t pretty but two weeks in a row we’ve had to slog it out in the wet and do what needed to be done. Aside from the second/third quarter of the Richmond game I don’t think I’ve seen us get passed 3rd gear. It’s pleasing but I really wish we could put in a 4 quarter performance and bury a team. Shout out to McKay, with an injured shoulder he was the difference between the Blues just getting beaten and getting smashed. Really gutsy from him.
  2. Well done Trac for helping wash all that stuff out of Chandler’s eyes. Poor bugger really copped a proper Gatorade (and Milk????) shower.
  3. This falls into the “win is a win”. Really want to see us power home in games, show a ruthless edge.
  4. Shut the **** up BT, can’t stand him.
  5. My one knock on Clarry is he needs to kick goals when presented with the opportunity. He gets enough looks at it that he should be going at 50/50.
  6. I can see this going one of two ways, either we’ll let them back into the game and it’ll be a dogfight at the end or we’ll kick the first couple of goals and break their backs.
  7. Ah Sam, so close! He kicks that I reckon it’s close to game over and the boys really would’ve got around him!
  8. What a load of ****. No consistency with HTB.
  9. Mark Williams’ influence can already be seen by Langdon’s kicking. Has improved out of sight.
  10. So Yze, you said they were going to make adjustments to get better at centre clearances. It hasn’t worked, we need to work it out.
  11. So absolutely what we were worried about with our forward line is happening, our talls seem to be getting in each other’s way. Max needs to go back to protecting space if he’s there, allow Brown, Tommy, and Weid to get an easier look at it. The pack forming is just too much for a contested mark.
  12. Trac just needs to simplify again, trying to do too much. Been doing this for the last few weeks.
  13. Well done Tommy, took the responsibility, and well done Fritta leading AWAY from Tom.
  14. **** me I’d managed to block that from my memories. I absolutely remember watching us drop those matches and recalling how it burned our top 4 hopes.
  15. If he could do it all remotely I could see him putting his hand up for a potential Tassie presidency if they were to be given a future license. Similarly to Sheedy at GWS it would be polarising but have them in the conversation.
  16. It can't be that hard for someone to send a camera operator down to Casey and set up a stream. Especially for two AFL affiliate clubs. There should always be a minimum single camera option for every VFL game, and IMO it should be included as an option for paid up Members.
  17. The images of him on the bench tells everyone that he knows it as well, and as talent goes he's got it there. The coaches can tell him everything he needs to know, but I think this is something he has to figure out himself. I see no point for the Saints to drop him because 6 looks at goal are still things that he created, it sounds a little [censored]-ish but I think he needs to look at mindfulness techniques to turn this around. As you say, a lot of the chances weren't hard at ANY adult level.
  18. As I said earlier in the thread, they are a lucky team. They have been for a last few years. Don't get me wrong I recognise they have a load of quality players, but they have managed to fluke some wins that in no way did they deserve that have elevated their perceived position. What I saw of the second half told me that blow for blow the Saints were better on the night, but they had a young forward that got some of the worst yips I've seen, coupled with coach-killing basic errors. The end result was simply down to Geelong having the composure to take the chances handed to them.
  19. According to the Saints forum (I was curious to see how they were reacting) he has kicked 5.14 in his last 5 weeks. There are two ways of looking at it. Firstly you can see the positive that he gets plenty of looks at goal for such a young player and his contested marking is already looking good. Or you can say his misses are costing them wins, 5.14 at ANY LEVEL is not good enough. He seems to be rushing himself, there's no clear routine. You look at Hawkins (who dobbed his shot from 40m on an angle almost straight afterwards) and he has a set routine. King just ran back an started his run up with plenty of time on the umpire's whistle, go too close to the man on the mark.
  20. 1 goal 5 behinds. He's the match loser.
  21. Wow King. ?
  22. I know commentary is one of the regular bug bears on this site but can I just point out one of the most patronising/condescending lines that the usual suspects trot out. "[Insert lower team] has been so brave tonight". It's actually insulting to the team that they're referring to, in this case St Kilda by Brayshaw. They haven't been brave, they've been better than the cats and quite clearly. They just haven't taken their shots on goal with their forwards having an absolute mare of a night in the fumbles department as well. Makes me sick that the Cats are likely winning this, they are a lucky team and the Sydney match was one of very few that went against them.
  23. Well except for vs Sydney in the final 30 seconds ?.
  24. Is it me or is this game some of the worst skills on display? Some absolutely shocking mistakes, misses, and fumbles from both teams. Maybe it's the perceived pressure but if that's the case both teams are turning to water when the heats on. EDIT: Saints have been worse than the Cats.
  25. In fairness there aren't a lot of great options that week if you take out the QB. As ratings go it's probably the best of the worst options available.
