I think the carrot of GWS won't be as appealing to players as that of the Gold Coast. Both offering big bucks but to go to GWS will be career suicide as it is an experiment that will be a basket case for quite a few years as opposed to the Gold Coast which can mould a culture and attract supporters fairly quickly

We only have rookie choices left now so if we are looking for a mature player to play along Watts and Jurrah would'nt we need to promote a rookie at the expense of a long term injury?

the introduction of another team to Sydney does seem a drastic and radical decision, given the Swans are still trying to keep maintain their foothold in the Sydney market and continue to struggle to compete for attention against the other codes. I would have thought the emphasis for the AFL to expand the market was to ensure the Swans were embraced by the Western Suburbs of Sydney and build off their history and success rather than manufacture something from nothing.

Does anyone know anything about Ryan Murphy the Dockers discard? Physically he looks like a good option but never set the world on fire in the 5 or so years at Dockers (not the only one). Opinions?

White, Yze, Robbo all hoped to get picked up by another club after they were moved on, none of them were. I therefore think the club was more than vindicated with their decision. Bruce will probably play on somewhere else but that is his call and one that nobody will really care about in 12 months time.

I, too, am pleased to see them jetison their old jumper with the hodge podge of colours.

However, frankly, I reckon they would have been better to go with that jumper they occasionally wore a few years back. It was simply the reverse of their clash jumper. That is, all purple, with a white anchor. Looked good!

agree that jumper was perfectly fine and the anchor kept its originality, the new one looks OK but seems like a run of the mill suburban club jumper
