  1. How good was Rivers play to rebound off HB to make that forward play that resulted in the Milkshakes mark and goal. Kid will be a recognised star of the competition soon enough
  2. Stayed off demonland all match because I couldn't bare to see the usuals potting the lads when we're were looking almost gone. What a win. This is a spring board win- confidence and momentum in spades
  3. I'd think the Grundy omission is 60% for a look at a different structure and 20% to give Max a proper full game in the ruck to find his mojo and 20% to give Brody a rest Strikes me a little like JVRs recent omission. Sure, he wasn't in hot form, but the FD took a look at something different and in doing so freshened up a key player
  4. Loved the podcast as usual, I feel myself flip flopping and siding with different panel members all the time; 'Angry Andy' firing up about us potentially not being as good as the ladder suggests Positive Binners reminding us that a 4 goal win against the 5th ranked team is a good result (after a 6 day break from the Alice no less) George giving Gussy Brayshaw a big wrap for his versatility All great shouts
  5. Lions are notoriously weaker at the G. But we're not at our best, and were still missing Clarry. Keen to hear what the pannel sees as the key to winning this match. If it's the midfield, can we afford to play Trac in the guts or is that robbing us of the most likely goal scoring option with no Fritsch. Seems to be a conundrum!
  6. Made my week. Son of a gun gets a run

Not trying to defend the undefendable, but given the wet conditions im sure there was a direction to avoid overuse.

That stings. Bad kicking is bad football

Going to be a hard slog all day. Hard to watch but we're winning alot of the contest atm so just need to be more clinical infront of goals

Keen for a solid dees win followed by a 2nd test win for the Aussies. How good is sport

Like the ins and outs tbh. Say what you want about Brown but he's a pure forward that can kick goals Harmes can also bob up for a couple Bowzer excellent
  12. Ben Brown breaking into the side after the bye has some 2021 vibes about it 😍
  13. Lots of doom and gloom here. Feels like a 40 point loss but in reality it was pretty close. If we played them on the wide expanses of the G and/or on a dry night we might have won. Important to win next week but was always going to be a tough assignment. We miss clarry
  14. Lost a scrappy dog fight. Not usually one to pot ANB but his fumble was a real sliding doors moment.
  15. Yeah, I guess there's no analysis to my observation other than the 'vibe'. Won't use the 'eye test' descriptor incase people get triggered haha.
  16. Interestingly I see Port as the leading contender (noting its only June). Remind me alot of us in 2021 - everything is seemingly going their way, they play a good brand of footy and have strong mix of youth and experience across the ground.

This game summed up our season imo.
  18. Looking forward to the Pod. Keen to hear the panels thoughts on which players might get a game in the run home that we haven't seen yet in 2023 (debuts or otherwise). If time permits, I'd also like to know what everyone considers to be their best 22 for finals. Are we resting BBBB in the VFL as per 2021? Does someone like Harmes get a gig if he's in form? Can all of Rivers, McVee, Bowey, Salem and Brayshaw play in the one side when its crunch time?
  19. Great podcast chaps. Loved the call from Beau from Tassie, full blown Binman worship haha
  20. I think we have to try it at some point to really know the answer
  21. I feel like those that can't see why Gus is the team are missing the Forrest for the Trees. At this point he's a pure utility that will play a role pretty much wherever he is needed. He's desperate and a good overhead mark. Like everyone in AFL, will be responsible for a few turnovers each match. If he makes way for Oliver (which is feasible given the form of our backs) we have an embarrassment of riches.
  22. In fairness Joey has been big on us all year. Also, do you think David King or any other fox pundit actually comes up with their own analysis? I just assume their producers and stats team just feed them lines to read. I think less than half of what comes out of kings mouth is his opinion, with the balance being lines from a teleprompt written by their production team
  23. I wonder whether the shape of Alphabet Stadium impacts our selection at all. Will be interesting to see. I think we need to have a look at a forward line with all of JVR, Smith and Petty in it. All very good competitors so can probably let one of Spargo or Chandler make way? Love Bowza but not sure if he comes in immediately unless they give Pig another freshen up. Perhaps Thommo goes out to make way, with the option for Petty to swing back if needed....but I'd prefer we stick to 3 talls. Oliver comes in but for who, not sure. Funny how much depth we seem to have all of a sudden 🤔😅
  24. Very glad to see Hunter in people's votes. Because he's a new player and not a long term Dee people on here have been way to quick to slag him. Absolute gun. My votes Viney Salem Hunter Rivers Petracca Sparrow
