Integrity and the AFL ... oxymoronic

Leigh Fisher (ex Saint) is one of the umpires for the St Kilda game. Should this be a worry?
As you say, a professionally run organisation (like the EPL) wouldn't, but Gil's AFL do. Says a lot. Does anyone else remember back in the glory days, an umpire Gaudion (bro of a contemporary Norf player) or umpire Blew (bro of a contemporary EssenDrug player) umpiring in games vs Demons in which their brothers played? I remember they got a lot of flack during the game, though my fading memory fails to remind me if they ever paid frees to their bro or failed to penalise them. It just is not a good look regardless. Which Fraser used to play for Collingwood them umpired - I remember clearly one Dees game he umpired and just could not bounce at the centre. Didn't last long as an umpire as I recall.

Round 7 Non MFC games
Is that a sideline of naval gazing?? Do you have a filter there?

Round 7 Non MFC games
I hate to have to admit it but I actually agree with the idiot BT .... what was wrong with just throwing the bloody thing up immediately, and IF a "third man up" joins in the sure, penalise him. Back to the game .... are Geelong that good or are GW$$$ bad, or a bit of both? OMG that mark by Hawkins 2 minutes to go in 3rd quarter just incredible .... but surely he has to go, especially given his record, for that back of head late punch, than deliberately manhandling (softly) the maggot. And where was Ratugolea in the draft? What a strong young man .... could be anything.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Hird continues as he has throughout this sorry saga ..... woe is me. .... look at me. ..... its all about me ...... egotist, narcissist. And yet Gil, amongst others at AFL HQ seem to think that it is time to forgive and forget.

Average Home Attendances 2018
Do you have brown paper bags, $$$$$ And Gilโs address? Seems like the CFC way. Canโt see any other reason.

Tommy has become a very versatile and strong leader across the field ... well done and keep it up.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
Correction : you use the word โorโ which suggests the two are mutually exclusive traits ?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHARLIE SPARGO
Put me in the team and I would be consistent - consistently hopelesss. What was the lead up the the remonstrations with Goddard ?. .... was it just that he is the least likeable of all AFL players in my memory (including Boomer Harvey, and that is saying something) or was there something else specific in addition?

Match Preview and Team Selection - Round 7
Great summation of where we are, or in fact where we arenโt. Is it the coach, , is it the players, both, some other outside factor? Certainly it is a sign of lack of mental toughness, a prerequisite for ruthlessness which in turn is a prerequisite for a flag. Hope we can find it but wonโt hold my breath. The young forward inclusions from last round certainly offer us more opportunity to find it than those they displaced (Tracc excepted). Go Dees.

THE BOMBERS' DOPING SAGA - THE FAT LADY SINGS
IMO all premierships since say 1964 should be declared null and void

Bayley Fritsch to debut.
What a great question, because of their very different styles and totally different contexts. RDB played in, lead and certainly inspired, the greatest and most successful footy team ever whereas Tulip played in and lead, and tried to inspire one of the worst, through no fault of his own. Had Tulip played in the Smith era he no doubt would have been far more widely recognized as an all time great, a multi premiership player and quite possibly a multiple Brownlow medalist. Has RDB run around in the Tulip era teams he would probably still have been acclaimed as a great player in a crap team, without the accolades. So, for me, I will sit on the fence and declare a draw - for skills, Tulip, for grunt, RDB.

Looking at Docklands surface Sunday it would be easy to sweep anything under the grass there.

Yes. I donโt think anything more needs to be, or should be said at this stage, regarding Thompson anyway.

Collingwood vs Melbourne
Until we learn to play four quarters week in, week out, we will not be respected or feared. But we didnโt. Yes. Like Carlton has really earned all these prime time games? Maybe someone needs to go through Gilโs garbage bin looking for empty brown paper Visy bags.

Bayley Fritsch to debut.
Bailey already shows far more on the ground in terms of pressure, shepherding, handball, snap and set shots, than Howe. Not a one trick pony by any means.

At least the inane TV commentators wonโt be able to say whenever he gets the ball โhe comes from a basketball backgroundโ ?

Daniher under the Pump; Will Destroy Us
Yes. Did you forget the goal he passed to Hannan?
-
TMac our biggest loss
Certainly agree that our forward structure will be hard to man up against - two talls (Hogan TMcD Weed in rotation with the occasional Max) and 4 crumbers three of whom can grab a mark as well (Milk, Hannan, Fritsch) and Spargo (maybe Jeffy if can find form and enthusiasm at Casey). Difficult to match. PS forgot about DogFood (CP5).

The great thing about whisky is that one can use it to drown oneโs sorrows as last week??, or to celebrate as yesterday ??

Jake Melksham
One of the ABC commentators I think said that Melk and Hibberd were rejects from the drug lords: I would see them as escapees or refugees. Both are doing a great job after a quiet start to the season.
