  1. Ernest I would not go to Yarra park for a single malt. But back to the real world. Besides Goschs there is nothing in inner Melbourne. It is Goschs or the burbs. Why is so hard for people to understand that simple fact. As for eddy he got the easy option when we abdicated.
  2. There is good one near there, I think it is called Princes Park.
  3. I suspect the MFC have been taking a very low profile till after the election dc. Sadly will make no difference. No matter how logical the proposal it will be lost in the " taking park land " cries.
  4. Perhaps not but when it comes to attending Home and Away games I am believe me.
  5. Why ? The Hawks left their home land 20 years ago and they seem to have done alright since. They are now moving to Dingly, not exactly close to Hawthorn. The undeniable problem is that with the exception of Goschs there is no viable alternative in the inner suburbs. IMO it is make Goschs work or head for the outer suburbs.
  6. Top Deck or standing room Layzie? Geelong Game I stood at the back of level 1 my seat was in first four rows almost as crappy as top deck. Would do that again for finals matches. But home and away games I doubt it. But as I said earlier I am a fair weather supporter these days when it comes to home and away matches. After 58 years I don't need to be at every game.
  7. Ok Lets take over the Hawks old site at Arctic Park or the wastelands of docklands. Just joking, I think in the real world we will just have to make a better job of using Goschs.
  8. I find it amazing the sentimental stuff around the MFC needing to be "at" the MCG. If Hawthorn can be at Arctic Park and Dingly Why not the Dees at Cranbourne
  9. Like most things the Greens go on about it has little to do with fact and a lot to do with emotion. Logic will get very little chance here CBDees
  10. Probably true DJ. Ok How about Cranbourne? I hear there is a ground available out that way.
  11. All have the same problem DJ. They areas swarming with Greenies.
  12. I think they have a half life longer than plutonium dc. Honestly While the current situation is not ideal I struggle to see it will prevent us winning a flag over the next few years. IMO it is not vital to our chances. As for the social club bit very few people go to them in the second decade of the 21st Century.
  13. No chance LDC they know when they are on a good wicket and in ain't at Vic Park.
  14. Small joke there DJ. Goschs or the outer suburbs I think is the reality
  15. I am not sure it is such a great idea anyway LDC. I think the NO Case has some merit. I would love something close to the MCG but I simply cannot see this getting up. Most likely Dan will get back in but will need to help of the Greens ( sadly) in that scenario there is not a snow flake in Demons Hell of it getting up. Is there a No. 2 option? It would appear not so at Goschs we stay.
  16. It has nothing to do with the "gate" Richmond have 80k+ members, they will be there in droves on the night before Anzac day. As it is their home game the pickings for seats by us tenants will be sparse. I find nothing attractive about the top deck, that is why I will be home watching the game. I will not be at any away game at the G against the likes of Richmond, Essendon or Collingwood. Just too hard. That of course might mean more room for you.
  17. Probably true LDC but it does not alter the fact our big chance slipped away.
  18. AS I said that is going to haunt us for decades. If we cannot build something at Goschs then it looks like outer Mongolia to me.
  19. I have got to say Ernest that I can see that side of the argument. We are where we are because of the failure of a number of administrations over half a century. It is now very difficult to fix the problem. If something cannot be done to fix the problem in the Goschs area then I see no alternative but to move to the Boon docks.
  20. The fact is we blew it when we let the Pies take over Olympic park. That mistake will haunt us for decades to come.
  21. 58er I have supported the Dees since 1960. My support is now paying my membership, buying from sponsors and going to games that suit me. Am I a fair weather attendee at games? YES. A night Richmond home game that ain't fair weather. TV will work fine for me that night.
  22. Top deck ! Doubt you will see me at Tigers game. Last time I was up there I notice oxygen bottles under the seats. That tells you how high it is. Carlton game is ok there won't be many of them at the ground next year.
