  1. Some absolutely appalling decisions against us in the 4th quarter especially ... but then again, we got a heap of very soft frees in the 3rd quarter: whether for or against, it's still not good enough.
  2. Seven losses in a row against N.M., and seven losses in a row at Etihad.
  3. She reached for a glass of water, and sat down ! Confusing figures and statistics: N.M. went into their 50 as much as we did. They have had twice as many scoring shots. BUT (and I didn't know this): Dees are the ONLY team to have won EVERY 4th quarter this year. 14 points doesn't sound much (compared to 7 goals!) but catch-up football...how exhausted are we (another surprise - N.M. is a YOUNGER side than we are).
  4. Lacklustre. Cannot get free of their close tackling. Compared to last week, way too many turn-overs. We can stomach a quarter of this standard, but not a half. But we came out superbly for a quarter against Richmond (and yes, it was only a quarter of 'A'-class football)- and vs Brisbane we know it can be done. Too much to ask for "character" at this stage. Just one of those so-so dull games - I would have preferred to have played like this against the Dogs. This one should have been another 4 points. Not over, but she's spat out the phlegm, and cleared her throat.
  5. I remember seeing Jamar for his first game: slow, lumbering, confused, no football intelligence. Subsequently I fumed about losing Jolly. Hats off to the Club for persisting ! Notwithstanding my obvious poor perception, I am still quietly hopeful the PJ will improve too - apparently he'll be considered for next week (after a stress fracture ?). Personally I still think Davey should be a goal sneak up forward, although more knowledgeable people than me argue he is more valuable pushing up from backline. We can do without 'A'- grade players for the time-being (but clearly we have some great potential players), but ultimately we will need a couple of big bustling bodies (a la Neitz and the Ox).
  6. Of course....well done Sunday, 16 August 2009 Melbourne 20.7 (127) def. Fremantle 9.10 (64) MCG (Crowd: 13,004 )
  7. Pity...Jones kicked a goal after the siren, otherwise it would have been by more than 10 goals. I'll take 55 points: I was only hoping for a 6 goal grind. Jimmy is greeting the boys.
  8. FIVE to Sylvia. Someone should break his jaw at training every week.
  9. well-researched, Wonna Re: 8...the boys above are doing the calculations
  10. 18-13 9-12 (Sylvia) Give us a three or four more Dees...the 8 beckons. When was the last time we defeated a team by more than 10 goals ??
