I'm in Paris does anyone know if it is on live here, I was here last year as well and watched it on the AFL Site live updates, not real flash. You can get International AFL Bigpond direct on your computer but I'm no tech wiz and I'm not sure what you need and how to go about it.
Mate, Cafe Oz in Montmatre (opp. Moulin Rouge) is open till very late/early, so they may show it. There's another Cafe Oz in the 3rd/4th arrond - not sure how late they're open tho'. Bon courage.

Jack Trengove on Before The Game, Saturday. We're here, we're there, we're every-flippin'-where....
-
Rivers was immense last night. I thought the disposals and kicks out of defence were hugely improved last night - very assured and composed even when the Bombers had the pressure on. Not sure why this week should be so different - more able targets (Scully, Watts, Trengove) or just greater confidence?

Immense performance, so many great individual efforts, take a bow Jack Watts! Fantastic team performance, rammed it down their throats at the end. Great to see Bailey's delight at the end - could not run on quick enough to congratulate players.
-
Fair point - could have been his regular presser. Still think that we are reactive tho'.

Calling a press conference is all well and good, but why do we wait until the media tells us to? Brereton and Malthouse's comments as well as those from the Carlton players have been all over the media in the last couple of days, why wasn't it nipped in the bud beforehand? Same on-field, we only turn it on after a lambasting in the press! Too reactive across the board, too much Mr Nice Guy. We have the talented young list, but seem to wait for it all to happen by itself, but NOW is where the real grunt, effort and fight begins. And then, just maybe we will get a sniff at this success we believe should be ours.

I like Macdonald - really honest player and gives the club good depth whilst the young fellas are being blooded. Well done Joel.

Largely agree with what has been said on this thread. I thought that with a fullish squad we would have won today.
Thought that Brad Green had a better game, some captains motivate with talk, some lead by example and Green falls into the latter category. Watts is getting better and better. Jones had a great 100th game. Evans should also be singled out for praise - solid unit and 27 possessions on debut was a great effort.
Still a lack of cohesion amongst the team at times and that old hesitancy on kicking out from defence creeping in when under pressure.
Nor sure that the team spirit us as good as it could be - in the 4th, when Jurrah kicked 2 in a row, to put us within 3 goals with 8 mins left, there was no urgency to keep the momentum going and give us a chance. Rather, the muted celebrations seemed to indicate that the game was already lost and we were just reducing the margin.
Because so much has been said about the bright future of the Melbourne Football Club, wonder if some players are just sitting back and waiting for it all to happen by itself. The quality is potentially there, but there's a lot of hard graft ahead if it is to be realised.

Great bloke, smart as a whip too. Wouldn't have anyone else at the helm.

McGuire can't let it lie, can he?

Was listening to SEN during the week when a bouncer rang in regards to MFC's Mad Monday behavior.
Apparently one of the guys was a bit wobbly on his feet, the bouncer asked for him to leave.
Our captain said no problem and quickly sorted the problem.
The bouncer was amazed, thinking trouble would ensue and thanked our captain.
Our captain's response was "WE ARE MELBOURNE"
The bouncer was impressed,as was I when he rang SEN. Anyone else hear the call?
Nice to hear good football stories especially involving us B)
Yep - I heard this, too. Can't remember who the guest was, but said something along the lines of it being another example of the new culture at Melbourne. Well done boys.

I think Bate has copped it quite hard. Sure - the second half of the year he has fallen away, but over the previous 2 seasons he has been one of the bright spots, full of guts and running and a pretty good kick. He just needs to get a good pre-season, get his head right again and he'll be fine.

I think if we want one of the top guys, we need to tidy up behind the scenes first - something that G. Lyon will hopefully sort.
I'd like to see us get Roos in, with his mate Brett Kirk as number 2 to start a Melbourne dynasty.
I realise that all the big boys are saying not interested, but that's all par for the course at this stage, I reckon. But we do need to sort out our basket case backroom first.
